An Unloved Dog
Seriously, Readers, Don't Ever Let This Happen To Your Dog.
Hello! This is my 2nd (or 3rd, honestly right now I idk cuz 3 of my stories are being reviewed while I'm writing this story) story ever published on Vocal! I'm new author to Vocal, but at home, I love writing in my free time! I'm also really great at drawing, and I hope one of my drawings will get into an art museum one day. Anyway, let me give you a little sad story...
About a dog.
April 13th. 2021. Rainy Day.
It's a rainy day in the life of Clementine, a German Shepherd, a resident of the Rose Estate. Rose was the last name of the family who rescued Clementine off the street. They had always been good to her, but they never really gave her much love or paid attention to her. Well, actually, they had, but that was before: "The Accident". Their older dog, Lucy, had passed away, due to an infection, and, after that, they didn't give Clementine much love anymore. Lucy and Clementine were best friends, so it was already very hard on Clementine, especially because she thought Lucy had just abandoned her, but the Rose family was just making it harder. Clementine was sad, so she found her favorite ball that she had buried in the yard and brought it to Johnny, the brother. Johnny was reading, and didn't notice Clementine, so she nudged his foot a little. "Huh?" Johnny looked up from his fantasy book. "Oh, Clementine, it's you." He looked at her ball. "Ugh, Clementine, I don't have time for ball." He kicked the ball away and continued his reading. Clementine thought he was playing fetch with her, so she ran after the ball and caught it, bringing it to mom this time. "Johnny, what was that crash?!" the mom yelled. Oops. Clementine looked back. She had knocked over a lamp by accident while running to mom. The mom looked down at Clementine. "Ugh! Johnny, it was your dog! Come clean up this mess, and you forgot to feed her!" Clementine was confused by mom, but she knew the word "food.". She brought over her food bowl and dropped it in front of dad. "Ugh, I'm so tired of that useless dog!" Johnny shouted. Clementine's ears drooped. "useless?' she thought. The dad sighed. He couldn't take any more of this. He grabbed Clementine's leash and put it on her collar. "Come on, we're going for a walk." Clementine perked up. "A walk? Oh boy oh boy!" she hadn't had a walk in so long, and she was so excited that she practically dragged the dad out of the door. "Woah, girl. Slow down, Clementine." The dad said. He was surprised at her speed, being 6 years old. But, then again, dogs do have a lot of energy. They walked to a place where only a few people came through a week, and then he took Clementine over to an electric wire post. Clementine wondered why they had walked so far. In a little bit, she wouldn't have to wonder. The dad tied her to the post, gave her a scratch behind the ears, and then walked back towards the house. Clementine got up to follow him, but the leash kept her from following him. "Arf! Arf!" She tried to get his attention, but he didn't look back. Clementine was stuck there for 5 days, drinking rainwater and eating stray mice that wandered too close to her. She was stuck there, for 5 days, before somebody driving by stopped and untied her. Clementine jumped on the lady who had saved her, and licked her as a big thank you. "Aw, your cute." said the lady. "I'm Mary, do you have a name?" she said. Mary checked Clementine's collar, where the dad of the Rose family had scratched out their address and phone number, he had only left Clementine's name. "So, your name is Clementine, huh? I like that name. It's a nice name for a nice dog. How about you come home with me?" Mary offered. "arf! Arf!" Clementine wagged her tail. "Okay! Yes it is, I guess! Come on." Mary led Clementine into her car and they drove to Mary's house, where Clementine had her own little backyard dog house, with an automatic feeder, in case she ever needed more food. "Welcome to the family, Clementine. Welcome home." Mary said, a smile on her face. Clementine was smiling, too. A nice, happy, dog smile. Clementine knew she would be happy here, and she was, from the day she got there, to the day she died there. Her life was always full of love and hope, when she lived with Mary.
THE END.
I really hope that you all liked this short, sad little story. And please, don't ever let this happen to your dog. <3

The reason I wrote this story, dear readers, is because, well, some people are just cruel to their dogs. It's not right for the loos of a loved one to make you be mean to others. I hope you all find some meaning in this story, and, if you have dogs, then if you don't want them, (I hope you always love them, tho) then just give them back to a shelter! Never tie your dog to the side of the road. ~Cristina Alan
