How to fix the QuickBooks Error 1603?
Solution 1: Run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool from QuickBooks Tool Hub
QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool is used to fix any installation-related errors in the QuickBooks application. Follow the steps mentioned below to run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool:
Note: Make sure you already have the QuickBooks Tool Hub software downloaded and installed for using the QuickBooks Install Diagnostics Tool.
1. Go to the QuickBooks Tool Hub icon and open the Tool Hub application.
2. Next, click on the Installation Issues tab in the Tool Hub application.
3. Then, click the QuickBooks Installation Diagnostic Tool button.
4. Wait for the tool to complete the Diagnostic.
5. After the diagnostics is complete, restart your device.
Solutions 2: update your windows operating system
It might be possible that the installation error is caused due to an outdated Windows operating system. Windows updates can fix the QuickBooks Installation Error in some cases. Go through the instructions below carefully:
1. Look for windows update procedure online and install the most recent updates of your Windows operating system.
2. Restart your device once the window update is completed.
3. If you were able to open the QuickBooks application before seeing the Error, check if you can open the QuickBooks application and company file now.

Step 1: Store your QuickBooks data.
Before deleting the QuickBooks application to reinstall it again, make sure you have created a backup of your QuickBooks company file and saved a copy of your QuickBooks Desktop product and license info.
Step 2: Start your device in selective startup mode.
1. Open the run command by pressing Windows key + R together on your keyboard.
2. Enter “msconfig” in the text box, then click the OK button.
3. Go to the General tab and checkmark the Selective Startup and Load system services checkbox.
4. Open the Services tab and checkmark the Hide all Microsoft Services checkbox.
5. Then, click Disable all.
6. After that, remove the checkmark from the Hide all Microsoft Services checkbox
7. Check if the Windows Installer checkbox from the list of services is tick. Checkmark it if it’s not.
8. Then click the OK button
9. Finally, click the Restart option on the system configuration window.
Note: After following the steps mentioned above, you need to uninstall QuickBooks Desktop and download it from the official website of QuickBooks. Then clean install it carefully as per the instructed procedure.
Step 3: change the settings back to the Normal startup mode
1. Press Windows key + R to open the run command.
2. Next, Type “msconfig” in the textbox and click the OK button.
3. Open the General tab and tick the Normal startup checkbox.
4. Click the OK button.
5. Finally, click the Restart button.
