When you subscribe for Group Personal Accident Insurance (GPF) coverage, your employer deducts the premium payment every month from your salary. If you leave the organization before the subscription's complete term, there are many things left to be done.

The IFHRMS will issue a new e-KYC to you within 15 days and upload your details to the GPF system. (If you forget to submit this change in the e-KYC form, you will not be able to perform a GPF subscription update).

Step 1: Log in to the IFHRMS Portal and click on 'Employee(GPF)>Subscription Update'.

Step 2: Enter your Employing Office, Course and Serial number and click on 'Submit.

Step 3: Now, if you have retired/left the organization while subscribing for GPF insurance then select 'Both' from the drop-down list and proceed further. If you have any outstanding premium payments then select 'Just Premium Payment' and proceed further. Otherwise, leave it as it is.

Step 4: Enter the number of months remaining till subscription completion and submit.

Step 5: Once the subscription update is successful, you will receive a success message and a 'Subscription Update Completed' message will appear on IFHRMS Portal. You can download your GPF Subscription Certificate from the same window .

How to overcome the failure in GPF Subscription Update?

The failure in GPF subscription update usually happens due to the following reasons:

The new employer is not creating the record at the time of employee joining. Hence, when the employee leaves the organization, his/her record is not available in IFHRMS and cannot perform a subscription update.

The ex-employee does not log in to his/her IFHRMS account and perform a GPF subscription update regularly. Thus, for repeated failures in updating your GPF profile, you may receive a message:

"Your Group Personal Accident Insurance (GPF) Subscription details are not updated within 1 year of leaving the organization."

This is a very important step for any employee who wants to update their GPF records. In most cases, you will have to wait for at least 3 days before the IFHRMS Portal system will approve your application and do a subscription update.
