For as long as I could remember writing was a way for me to escape the real world and allow me to just melt away with a pen and paper. I didn’t have the ability to control or rewrite my reality. I didn’t have much of a choice, writing gave me that opportunity to be in charge for once, be able to write outcomes for things because at least when it came to my imagination, a pen and a piece of paper it was like the world was sitting in my hand.
I don’t really remember my first piece that I ever wrote but the first piece I wrote for vocal was “Am I Haunted?” I posted this piece about five years ago. Since then, I’ve watched myself grow as a writer. Writing for me used to be an escape goat but now writing is a form of expression.
In five years my writing flows more easily and comes more naturally to me. Especially when I write for someone else. In this case when I write for Vocal. I know people are going to read my work and I get excited when people do read and enjoy my work. Because of this I cant wait to find out what new adventure awaits when I grab my note book and pen. Over the years sharing my work with the world becomes less overwhelming and more of a therapy session for me.
It’s to the point I don’t need to think of how I’m going to organize ideas or how to even come up with ideas or even what to do with the ideas. It just seems to work its self out. Being able to let my imagination go wild and seeing what story I can come up with next is the most exciting thing for me and get to share it with the world is even better.
