Where emotions come and gather

These tears are never for any memory.

By Abdul BarikPublished 8 months ago 3 min read

It happens. Either inside me, or in the secret atrium of every heart—where emotions gather, sit quietly in some corner, waiting for their release. This sudden burst of tears—for no reason, yet the chest fills with tears, an invisible weight gathers in the corners of the eyes—is not a sign of weakness. Rather, it is proof that our hearts still feel, still live.

These tears are never for a memory, never for an unsatisfied desire—rather, many times they come from a strange feeling of emptiness, from a feeling that itself does not know what it wants. A kind of inner groaning that cannot be explained in words. Life does not always give us what we want, and not all feelings can be expressed properly. Some words cannot be put into words, some feelings may not even be called by name. That's when tears rise from the depths of the heart—not continuously, but slowly, silently.

You know, such tears do not always fall from the eyes, but rather they remain in the breath that is held back. It feels like something is stuck in the chest, which if released, will probably feel a little lighter, a little more comfortable. But this invisible burden is not worth sharing with anyone. Because even if there are people to talk to, there is no environment to talk about everything. Many people do not listen even when they are nearby, and many do not understand what they hear. Then such a deep loneliness towards one's feelings is born, that loneliness is only one's own, and cannot be shared with anyone.

Sitting silently like this for no reason is also a kind of crying. Some people cry even with a smile on their face, some laugh as if they are the happiest person in life—but when the night is dark, the tears hidden behind that smile scream out. These tears cry silently, do not hurt anyone, but create intense pain inside yourself.

When you cannot say something to anyone, but you needed to say it, then those unsaid words accumulate and one day become tears. That cry is not for anyone, not for any particular event—but for oneself. For that inner voice of one's own, which is suppressed every day, ignored every day. This cry is an attempt to free oneself from the burden of the soul—where there is no accusation, no pride—there is only the private sorrow of "I", which may not be caught by any eye.

There is another thing—such a cry is actually an indication of the deep sensitivity of the heart. A person who knows how to feel, knows how to love, is the one who is swept away by such sudden emotions. Because he feels not only his own pain, but also the sorrow of others. Sometimes looking at the eyes of someone sitting on the side of the road, sometimes at the melody of an old song, sometimes from a few words spoken by someone, such a feeling arises—which cannot be explained.

This cry, this unspoken feeling—the person who develops from all this is strangely beautiful. He is soft, gentle, yet tolerant. Because he knows what it means to hide pain, knows how to laugh when the inside is empty, knows how to hold yourself while crying.

So when you suddenly feel like crying, when you feel like you need to say something but can't, then look at yourself. Don't tell anyone, at least talk to yourself. Don't deny your feelings. Because feeling is the greatest quality of a person, and crying is actually not a matter of shame, but rather it is the courage of the heart, because not everyone can cry.

If it feels like this, everything cannot be explained, no one is listening, you feel alone, then know that you are not alone. The same unspoken wave of pain is flowing in countless hearts in the world. Some express it, some remain silent. But feelings are there, and they will remain forever. We are only witnesses to those feelings, sometimes they come out as tears, without saying anything.

And that is right, because tears are often stronger than words. Then words are not needed, tears alone explain, "I am, I feel, I am alive."
