When To Have A Baby Shower If Due In December? You have the opportunity to make lovely, joyous memories for a growing family by throwing a baby shower for a friend or relative who is getting ready to welcome a new one. However, this approach might also leave you feeling overburdened if you don't have a strategy. "As a host, your job is to make sure the mom-to-be has a great time," according to Brenna Gilbert of Feste, "and if you're anxious about leaving everything to the last second, and you're not having a blast, then she's not enjoying a great time."

Gilbert suggests planning the shower for the mother's sixth or seventh month, which is the ideal time between first-trimester sickness and third-trimester fatigue. This will give you around two months to plan the location, the meal, and the décor. Spacing out the tasks makes everything feel that much more manageable, so that finally you're able to enjoy the event more. Discuss with the parents in month five—or a little before if you plan to host the bridal party at a restaurant or event space—what kind of event they want, who is on the guest list, and whether they would prefer to assist or be surprised.

Out for Six to Eight Weeks

At this stage, talking with relatives should help you finalize the general plan, including the number of attendees, the date, and the venue. "Now is when you ought to arrive at decisions on your guest list, because they're going to drive your space," Gilbert states. "Make decisions on the number of attendees, the event's theme, and the overall budget. If the event is being held at home, a six-week preparation period is acceptable, while two months are needed for major venues.

Six Weeks Away

Gilbert advises using the guest list to send invites with a four-week notice to RSVP before the shower. "Mom should complete her registration six weeks before to the event to ensure that presents arrive on schedule. Additionally, you have to start placing orders for personalized items like décor or when to have a baby shower if due in december.

Four Weeks Away

The remaining preparations may begin as soon as your RSVPs are received. Especially if you're dining at home, now is the time to set a menu, Gilbert advises. Now is the time to talk to a restaurant about cakes, make orders for personalized cookies or cakes, and prepare to plan your next few weeks. Think on how much of an at-home meal you can (or want) prepare yourself; you may want to purchase bigger entrees and prepare charcuterie or crudite platters; you may want to ask family members to bring the parents' favorite handmade foods; or you may want to hire a caterer to do everything. (During the busiest event season, you should also inquire with a table and chair rental firm this week to discuss your alternatives; they will provide you with a deadline for completing your order closer to the event.)

Two Weeks Away

Order the balloon installation, get specialized glasses for the mimosa bar, and get any handcrafted favors or other accessories ready to complete the remainder of your décor. Gilbert advises, "If you haven't already, speak with a florist.

The preceding day

Gilbert advises getting as much of the event ready as possible at least 24 hours beforehand: Prepare drinks and canapés in advance; set up tables, chairs, and place settings; and supply the bar with mixers and glasses. With the exception of a few last-minute items like flowers, perishable food, latex balloons, and anything your children or pets could be tempted to get into overnight (if you're entertaining at home, that is), you should ideally have everything set up the night before.

Theme: Winter Wonderland Baby Shower

A gorgeous approach to celebrate the parent is with a glittering, spectacular celebration that is full of silver, white, and bursts of glitter and sequins. Keep the details sophisticated and classy, emphasizing white hues. If you want a gendered shower, add a few pink or blue accents. Additionally, a backdrop of silver or gold sequins will be essential for photographs, and the room will be completed with seasonal flowers and greenery.

Winter Baby Shower in Frosty Blue

Everything at this winter baby shower seemed to have been touched by a very stylish Jack Frost, who transformed it into a sophisticated, glazed masterpiece. Every element seems to belong in an ice castle, from the snowflake-topped cupcakes to the winter-white blooms to the ice-like acrylic tabletoppers.

When is the best time to throw a baby shower?

However, many expectant mothers claim that the early to mid-third trimester is their sweet spot, when they are far enough along to begin showing and have completed creating their baby registry, but not so near to the due date that they feel exhausted or exhausted. (Some pregnant women may not feel excited about socializing late in the third trimester, while others may have energy until the end.)

Another thing to think about is how much time you have after taking a shower: If you cut it too tight, you may not have time to write thank-you letters for the baby shower before your child comes. A few weeks to unpack presents, wash fresh clothing, and arrange the baby's room is also appreciated by many parents.
