Truth in the Shadows

On False Counsel, Broken Ties, and the Rising Light of Hope

By INAM ULLAHPublished 6 months ago 3 min read

In the hush of dawn, when the earth still sighs,

When lies wear robes and truth softly dies,

A tale unfolds beneath golden skies—

Of hearts betrayed, and yet dreams that rise.

We gather in circles, friends side by side,

But trust, like vapor, too often will hide.

We speak of care with lips sweet and kind,

Yet poison lives in the folds of the mind.

They say they love, they say they care,

But when storms rise, none stay there.

Advice flows freely, but wisdom is rare,

Few know your shoes, or the burdens you bear.

"Spend this, invest that," they boast and speak,

But when you fall, their silence is bleak.

Debt splits friends with a whispering knife,

Money reveals the truth of a life.

They borrow with smiles, repay with delay,

Vanishing dreams in the light of day.

What once was sacred, friendship and grace,

Dissolves with coins in a cold marketplace.

And further beyond the hills we call ours,

The giants move with unfathomed powers.

They send their ships, they write their laws,

Not for mercy, but for profit and cause.

Grains rot in silos, food turned to gold,

While hunger haunts both young and old.

They hoard the harvest, they burn the field,

Then ask why we kneel, why we never heal.

Wars for oil, and schemes for bread,

Markets shake, and millions are dead.

They speak of peace, then arm the tide—

Behind every treaty, something has died.

Yet still we rise, from the dust and shame,

We carve our path, though none know our name.

For every chain there's a secret key,

And every night births destiny.

Indigenize, with sweat-stained hands,

Plant your truth in your own lands.

Forge from the earth, build from the soul,

The power within makes broken things whole.

We won’t be saved by distant thrones,

Nor voices cast from silver phones.

The seeds of hope grow slow and deep,

In quiet toil and humble sleep.

Do not wait for kings to bend,

Nor wish for foes to call you friend.

The world is hard, but forged by strife,

Is the fire that gives your dreams their life.

Let them scoff and let them jeer,

Success is born from facing fear.

No savior comes with trumpet sound,

But truth is found in the sweat-streaked ground.

Let others trade in shallow fame,

While you build depth without a name.

Let others rise and others fall,

You will rise beyond them all.

There is a justice, slow but true,

Not handed down, but born in you.

You are the storm, the flame, the fight,

You are the spark that births the light.

So when the winds of failure roar,

And no one answers when you implore,

Know this truth—stand up, endure:

No dream is wasted that grows from the pure.

Do not curse the world for its cruel disguise,

Just learn the pattern, and let the wise

Shape a path not paved in lies—

But in effort, will, and endless tries.

The world is rough, and people are flawed,

But do not bow, do not be awed.

With humble hands and heart so wide,

Build your truth, and stand with pride.

Let history write what it will say,

You walk your truth, come night or day.

And when the world has had its hour,

You’ll stand, unbroken, in your power.

For success is not in praise or cheers,

But forged in toil and dried in tears.

And though advice may fail and bonds may break,

Hope is the crown that none can take.

So rise again, from pain and loss,

Turn your failures into your cross.

Climb the mountain, bear the load—

Truth will walk you down that road.

And one day, when the world is still,

You’ll find you’ve bent it to your will.

Not with might or borrowed name,

But effort, roots, and inner flame.
