Tranquil life

My musings on an uncluttered lifestyle

By Swetha ParasuramanPublished 2 years ago 3 min read

In a world that seems to spin faster with each passing day, where the relentless tick-tock of the clock is a constant reminder of life’s hurried pace, there exists a cherished and elusive treasure — a tranquil life. Picture, if you will, a scene bathed in the soft, golden hues of a gentle sunrise, where time dances lazily, and the heart beats in harmony with nature’s rhythm. Here, serenity envelops every moment, and the notion of haste becomes an alien concept, replaced by a profound appreciation for the unhurried grace of existence.

In this idyllic setting, mornings unfurl at their own leisurely pace. The sun creeps over the horizon, casting a warm, amber glow upon a landscape untouched by the frenetic footsteps of the modern world. The air is crisp and imbued with the scent of blooming wildflowers, as if nature herself has brewed a potion of tranquility to sip and savor. There is no deafening alarm clock, no rush to meet deadlines, no relentless stream of notifications; just the gentle awakening of a peaceful day.

As I turn my gaze towards the horizon, time stands still. I stand in front of a small and cozy homestead that looks out over the sea. I have a small garden at the back where I grow my own produce. The garden bears the fruits of my labor, a satisfying feeling like no other. Growing my own crops will teach me about the importance of being an early riser. There will be many a teaching moment about crop cycles, replanting, seasonal crops, and many more. My mind paints an idyllic setting that appeals to me.

As I wander through this serene haven, time flows like a meandering river. The hours are not conquered, but rather embraced, each moment given the space it deserves to breathe and flourish. A tranquil life is not a race to the finish line; it’s an embrace of the present, a love affair with the simple joys that surround us. It’s the luxury of unhurried conversations with loved ones, where the depth of connection is far more important than the brevity of words.

In this world of tranquility, technology is not an omnipresent master but a humble servant. Screens do not demand our constant attention, and the quiet hum of nature replaces the relentless buzz of gadgets. The art of presence is practiced with devotion, as individuals find solace in the quietude of their own thoughts and the whispered secrets of the world around them.

I imagine evenings that stretch their arms into the horizon, painting the sky with the rich, soothing hues of dusk. The setting sun invites a sense of calm, as if it were a master painter carefully crafting the most beautiful of canvases. There is time for stargazing, for reflection, and for dreams to take flight on the wings of an undistracted mind. I welcome this unhurried pace, the transition from day to night seamless, and the world slows down to breathe with an audible sigh of contentment.

The tranquil place I seek nourishes my soul and quiets my racing mind. I am free of stress that comes with living in this fast-paced world that constantly demands productivity. I can stop and stare without having to worry about missed notifications and calls. I can finally feel the caress of the breeze on my skin, the glare of the afternoon sun while I take a nap under the shade of the apple tree.

Oh how my heart yearns for a tranquil life. A simple and uncluttered way of living. I chase my dream, not giving up on turning it into a reality.
