The Wisdom of Humility

Life lessons on balance, respect, and letting go

By Rohitha LankaPublished 10 months ago 3 min read

Remember, my child, do good but don't be outstanding.. otherwise it will be a danger.

1. A wise man said, "Do good but don't be outstanding, it will be a danger." You can do good but don't act outstanding because in this world, no one wants to be inferior to anyone. If you are good and outstanding, people will be jealous.

2. In this world, no one is better than anyone. There are only people who think they are great...!! But we shouldn't think that we are cool...!! Don't think that you are better than anyone else. If you think that there are only people who are inferior, don't forget that there are many people who are more outstanding than you. Tone it down a bit. Don't show off too much.

3. At this age, you must understand that don't compete with each other based on beauty on the face, but compete with each other based on goodness. Don't compare each other based on wealth. Health is the thing to take care of. Don't compete for status and power. The stage of life has its ups and downs. If you have abilities, show them when the time comes, but don't show them all the time.

4. Don't expect others to provide you with convenience. Don't expect to receive sympathy from others. You are no longer young. Make yourself respectable. Don't make yourself pitiful. If you want others to accept and respect you, you have to make yourself valuable enough for people to respect you.

5. Between your partner, friends, children or lovers No matter what happens, tell yourself that no one is wrong to anyone! No one is the one who abandoned anyone! Because while you think that the other party is wrong, they also think that you are wrong. It's just a matter of who understands who? Who takes care of who? Whether who stays or who goes, if you can embrace and forgive, you must choose to do so. Understand the other party a lot even though it's hard to understand. Because in the end, your heart belongs to you. Other people cannot enter your heart and suffer with you.

6. Money is important during this time. But don't earn until you have no time to rest. Just have enough to spend. There is an old proverb that says, "Having money is not as good as having morality." If you are good at earning money, you must spend it wisely. Earning but not spending it, when the day is near to leaving the world, you will become possessive of your wealth. Like this, your children will run away. No one will be around to take care of you when you are old.

7. No one has never suffered. You are stressed out trying to support your family. Other people are stressed out trying to support their families as well. You cry when you lose, they cry when they fail as well. You are upset with your subordinates, they are upset with their boss as well. So, don't think that you are the only one suffering. When you encounter suffering, know that other people are suffering as well. Our suffering is not the greatest on the board.

8. Remember, good people, on their beautiful faces, they have also cried and sulked. No matter how close they are, they have betrayed each other. No matter how honorable and prominent their positions are, they have taken turns rising and falling. What should stay will stay, what should be obtained will be obtained, and what should go will go. Don't defy that it must be with us forever.

9. People who are over 50 have been through many things, experienced many happinesses and sorrows, experienced many hot and colds, experienced many conflicts and struggles, and experienced many disappointments and successes. When they have stood until today, try looking back at the past. Many things are memorable, many things are funny, and many things are still pending. Accepting them will lead to wisdom. Accepting them will lead to good fortune. Letting go will lead to peace.
