The Price of the Chase
Not all success is worth the sacrifice

Go home while love still knows your name,
Before the world can dim your flame.
Beyond your door, the night is long,
Where empty hands applaud the strong.
They'll greet you with a charming grin,
These hollow men in tailored skin.
With promises like poisoned wine,
They’ll toast your dreams, then draw the line.
They'll trade your laughter for a wage,
Your peace for glory, cage by cage.
They'll sell you hours, dressed as pride,
And leave your soul unsatisfied.
They’ll name you “leader,” give you praise,
While stealing all your golden days.
And when the climb has reached its end,
You’ll count no joy, and find no friend.
So turn around, choose softer roads,
Where hearts are full, not just the loads.
Success means nothing if you’re alone,
Let love, not titles, build your throne.
Go home, where arms don’t measure worth,
Where silence heals, and hugs give birth.
To all the things we chase in vain.
Belonging, peace, a heart unchained.
