The people incomplete information

one man and woman interesting story

By New stAr writer Published 6 months ago 3 min read

Here is the story expanded to 800 words:

As the woman approached the man on the street, he couldn't help but notice the determined look on her face. She was clearly on a mission to gather data for her survey, and he decided to play along. "Excuse me, sir," she said with a polite smile. "I'm conducting a small survey. May I ask you a few questions?"

The man nodded, intrigued by the prospect of participating in a survey. "Yes, of course," he replied, settling into a conversational tone.

The woman pulled out her paper and pen, her eyes scanning the questions before focusing on the man. "Suppose you're sitting on a bus and a woman boards, but there are no seats available. Would you give up your seat for her?" she asked, her pen poised over her paper.

The man thought for a moment before responding. "No," he said finally, his voice firm but polite.

The woman's eyes widened slightly, and she ticked a box on her paper labeled "rude." She didn't seem to expect this response, and the man wondered what she had been hoping for. Undeterred, she asked her next question: "If the woman who boarded the bus is pregnant, would you give up your seat?"

Again, the man thought before responding. "No," he said, his tone unchanged.

This time, the woman ticked a box labeled "selfish." Her expression turned disapproving, and the man began to sense that he wasn't meeting her expectations. She pressed on, asking her next question: "And if the woman who boarded the bus is an elderly woman, would you give her your seat?"

The man's response remained consistent. "No," he said, his voice steady.

The woman's face turned red with anger, and she slammed her pen onto her paper. "You're a very selfish and insensitive man who hasn't been taught manners towards women, elderly, and weak individuals," she exclaimed, her voice rising. With a final disdainful look, she turned and walked away.

The man watched her go, feeling a mixture of amusement and annoyance. A second man standing nearby, who had been listening to the conversation, approached him. "Excuse me, sir," he said with a curious expression. "Why didn't you respond to that woman's insults? She was pretty harsh, wasn't she?"

The man smiled wryly. "This woman is conducting a survey with a narrow mind and half-baked information, trying to judge people's character," he said, shaking his head. "If she had asked me why I wouldn't give up my seat, I would have told her that I'm a bus driver!!"

The second man burst out laughing. "Ah, that explains it," he chuckled. "You weren't being rude or selfish; you were just doing your job!"

The man nodded, feeling vindicated. "Exactly. And that's the problem with surveys like hers. They're based on assumptions and incomplete information. People jump to conclusions without taking the time to understand the context."

The second man nodded in agreement. "It's a significant problem in our society. We often judge others without knowing the full story. It's easy to make assumptions and label people as rude or selfish without understanding their perspective."

The man nodded, reflecting on the conversation. "I think that's what bothers me the most about surveys like hers. They're not really about gathering information; they're about confirming preconceived notions."

As they parted ways, the man couldn't help but think about the importance of understanding and empathy in our interactions with others. By taking the time to listen and ask questions, we can avoid making assumptions and judgments based on incomplete information. And who knows? We might just learn something new about the people around us.
