The Madmen Who Outsmarted Kings
Laughs, Lessons, and the Legends Who Made Even Emperors Go Silent

Sometimes, life feels too heavy.
Bills. Burdens. Bosses.
So many problems, so little peace.
And in moments like that — a good laugh is not a luxury. It’s therapy.
But the best kind of laughter?
It’s the one that makes you smile and think.
So today, I bring you the tales of five legendary “madmen.”
They dressed like beggars.
Spoke like fools.
But their words? Pure gold.
🌙 1. Bahlool – The “Tenant” of the World
The court was glittering with gold, and King Haroon Rasheed sat proudly on his jeweled throne. He called for Bahlool — the strange man in rags who roamed the city talking to walls and trees.
When Bahlool entered, barefoot and smiling, the king pointed around and said:
“Look at all this — my palace, my throne, my army. I’m the most powerful man in the world!”
Bahlool looked around, then at the king, and said softly:
“Can you take any of this with you to your grave?”
The king paused.
Bahlool shrugged.
“Then you’re not the owner of any of it. You’re just a tenant with an expiring lease.”
The entire court went silent.
Except Bahlool — who walked away laughing.
🐴 2. Mullah Nasruddin – The Fasting Donkey
One afternoon, Mullah was seen walking beside his donkey on the road to town.
A group of men laughed, “Mullah! You finally gave up your donkey?”
He replied, “No, no. He’s fasting today. I won’t burden a worshipper.”
The men laughed harder, “Your donkey is fasting?! Since when do animals fast?”
Mullah nodded seriously.
“Since they started carrying people who lie, cheat, and gossip. Poor thing had no choice but to turn to God.”
Everyone went quiet. The donkey gave a proud little snort.
🐇 3. Bahlool’s Clay Palace – Paradise for Sale
Bahlool was once seen making a small palace from mud near the mosque. Children gathered around.
He stood and shouted:
“Palace of Paradise for sale! Buy now — limited time!”
King Haroon came by on his horse and joked:
“I’ll buy it, Bahlool. Here’s one gold coin.”
Bahlool looked him in the eye:
“Your offer is rich, but your heart is poor. You’re not serious.”
Moments later, Imam Musa ibn Ja’far (a.s.) walked by. He gave some charity and smiled.
Bahlool clapped.
“Sold! One palace in Jannah reserved for Musa ibn Ja’far!”
That night, the king had a dream.
He stood before a glowing palace in paradise.
It had a sign:
“Sold – Owner: Musa ibn Ja’far.”
And Haroon? Standing outside… with nothing.
🐓 4. Mullah Nasruddin – The Chicken Logic
Some men thought Mullah was a fool, so they tried to trap him.
They asked:
“Mullah, if you have ten chickens in a basket and one flies away, how many are left?”
Without hesitation, he replied: “Still ten.”
They laughed loudly.
“Mullah! You really don’t know math!”
Mullah smiled calmly.
“And you don’t know chickens. When one flies, the rest follow.”
The laughter died out slowly.
🛏️ 5. Bahlool and the Hard Bed
Bahlool was once found sleeping in the corner of a graveyard — head resting on a stone.
A rich man passing by mocked him:
“You could sleep in comfort. Why do you choose filth and stone?”
Bahlool opened his eyes and said:
“Because this stone is honest. It reminds me of the grave.”
He paused and pointed to the luxurious palaces in the distance:
“Those soft beds — they lie to you. They say life is forever. This one tells the truth.”
🎭 6. Mullah and the Smart Mirror
Mullah once stood in front of a mirror, staring deeply.
His wife asked, “Why are you staring like that?”
He replied, “I’m just trying to see if the man in the mirror has answers… because everyone else around here just has opinions.”
😂 The Grand Moral
These men were laughed at.
Mocked.
Ignored.
Yet their words still echo centuries later.
They weren’t fools.
They just didn’t pretend to be wise.
They spoke simple truth — the kind we often avoid.
So next time life feels too heavy, remember:
A little laughter can open the heaviest minds.
And sometimes, a “madman” is the only one truly sane.
