The Bullying of Sarah
When Sarah discovers she is not the most liked at school, making friends is harder than she thought.

“Wake up Sarah” When she opened her eyes she saw the bright light from the sun coming through the window, she could hear the birds chirping and smell her mother cooking bacon and eggs. Today is Sarah's first day of second grade. She felt nervous but she was excited. As Sarah got ready for school she heard her mom yelling “Let's go don't want to be late”. When they arrived at the school Sarah inhaled and the school smelt like fear, fun, and school lunch. The bell rang and Sarah kissed her mom goodbye. When Sarah walked into her classroom everything looked colorful and fun. Kids were running around and she had a loud teacher who kept yelling “Everyone please take your seats”. Sarah sat in the front of the classroom and she couldn't wait to make new friends.
During lunch the kids played and when Sarah tried talking to some girls they all ignored her and they acted like she didn't even exist. The other kids played together and didn't include Sarah. She felt sad and wondered why nobody wanted to be her friend. When Sarah got home she told her mom about what happened to her at school, Sarah's mom sat down and said “Listen everyone is not going to like you and everyone is not your friend so find friends that are genuine”. Sarah couldn't understand what her mother was talking about. Sarah thought if she was nice to others they would be nice to her and they become friends. Her mother explained to her that things didn't work that way. Sarah wanted people to like her; she didn't want people to hate her. The next day at school Sarah walked into class hoping this would be different with the hopes of being accepted by others.
When she sat down she tried talking to a girl named Jamila and things were going great Sarah and Jamila seemed to be getting along great joking and having fun Sarah asked Jamila why everyone hated her and Jamila said “They don't like you because you think you all that” Sarah was confused on what that event mean. When Shanel showed up she asked Jamila what she was doing hanging out with Sarah. Jamila looked scared and had no excuse so they all left and Sarah was standing there alone and confused. Later that day Saha started talking to more people. They seemed nice but just weren't interested in being friends with Sarah. Sarah had siblings who were her friends when nobody wanted to be her friend.
The next day Sarah went to school with a beautiful hairstyle her mom did to her to cheer her up. When Sarah walked into the building everyone including teachers started complimenting her hairstyle, even the boys started looking. Sarah sat down in her chair and she saw the group of girls who didn't like her whispering in the corner, she glazed over and wondered what they were saying. As Sarah was writing she felt Shanel come and pull her hair and all the hair clips came out then she felt Jamila pick up her chair from the bottom and she fell flat on her butt, and the whole class began laughing. Sarah ran out of the classroom embarrassed, holding her hair and crying. The girls got in trouble for what they did to Sarah but the problem remains unknown why they hated her so much and why they chose to ignore her and taught her. When Sarah and her mom got home they walked to the bathroom mirror and Sara's mom made her repeat some words after her I am a beautiful person with a stunning personality, I have the holy spirit in me and everyone will not like that, I was created in God image and sometimes that will upset my enemies, I am different and God approves of me. Sarah's mom made her promise she would say this to herself in the mirror when she felt confused. Sarah didn't understand the point of saying this because it wasn't going to get her the friends she wanted to have but as Sarah got older she understood now.

Poor Sarah. Siblings are the best friends you can always fall back on. Such a sad but wholesome story, you will never know what’s really going on in a bully’s mind.
