The beginning of creation

The story of creation in Islam begins when Allah, the Almighty, decided to create humankind. This is mentioned in several verses of the Quran, where the story begins with the creation of the heavens, the earth, and everything between them. Allah created the universe by His power in six days, then established Himself above the Throne, commanding all creation to glorify and obey Him.

**The Creation of Adam (Peace Be Upon Him):**
The first human was the Prophet Adam (PBUH), created by Allah from clay. Allah says in the Quran:
“When your Lord said to the angels, ‘I am going to create a human being from clay’” (Surah Sad, 71).

Allah breathed into Adam from His spirit, giving him intellect and the ability to reason and think. Allah commanded the angels to bow down to Adam in honor of His creation, and they all did except for Iblis, who was from the jinn. Iblis refused to bow out of arrogance, saying, "I am better than him. You created me from fire, and You created him from clay" (Surah Sad, 76).

Due to this arrogance and disobedience, Allah cast Iblis out of His mercy, and Iblis vowed to mislead Adam and his descendants away from obedience to Allah.

**The Garden and Temptation:**
Allah placed Adam in Paradise and created for him his wife, Eve (Hawwa), from his rib to be his companion. Allah commanded them to enjoy everything in Paradise except for one specific tree, which He forbade them from approaching. However, Iblis whispered to them and convinced them to eat from the tree, thus disobeying Allah's command. After eating from the tree, their private parts became exposed, and they began covering themselves with leaves from the garden.

**The Descent of Adam and Eve to Earth:**
After they disobeyed Allah’s command, He ordered them to descend to earth to live. Allah said, "Go down, some of you will be enemies to others, and you will have on the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time" (Surah Al-Baqarah, 36). However, Allah promised to forgive them if they repented and reformed.

Thus, life on earth began with Adam and Eve, and they became the origin of humanity.
