The Beauty Of Music

Have you ever been asked about the beauty of music or the beauty of anything at all?

Natalie Goldberg's Writing Down the Bones Deck prompts - What kind of music do you love? What is beauty for you?

I love all music

While riding in my Buick

I may listen to popular tunes

or someone playing spoons,

What some call folk, or minstrelsy

Then there is jazz, and classical too, see

the rhythmic beats, skill, and creativity.

~~

There is the new country

and hubby's old-country

that I have had too many years of

Twenty-five to be exact. I do love

country, just not all of the time

And I enjoy all the rhyme

Hubby provides, that is not a crime

to hear in his tunes sometime.

~~

Beauty is a symphony

Closing my eyes to feel beauty

and all the instruments are moving

together, each improving

the others play

Oh, what a beautiful day

~~

I am floating in a cloud

with the music, loud

and a large crowd

a standing ovation

it is a celebration!

Natalie Goldberg's Writing Down the Bones Deck prompts - I love this topic. No one has ever asked me about beauty -- and maybe no one has asked you either. The response can range from the cut of a coat or the line of an old car to an iris or your lover's chin or forehead. It can span over countries or focus on the corner of a buillding. Go ahead. What is it for you? Of course, it can be more than one thing. Of course, it can be music.

First thing, when thinking of the beauty of music, I always think of how music is healing. It is good for the soul. It brings so much peace. I have never been asked about the beauty in music, though. I truly could go on and on.

Next, I sold Avon and Mary Kay cosmetics and was never asked about beauty. I was told that the products would contribute to women feeling better about themselves. That appeared to happen for most. I was given some information about how to sell.

Those tips were helpful as they taught me to sell, but also how to avoid buying. Our society puts so many conditions out there on what a beautiful woman is.

Eyebrows create a frame for your face. Without lipstick you can fade into the background. I prefer red lipstick and wear it whether others like it or think it appropriate for a woman my age. What happens if I forget my makeup?

The other day I forgot my eyebrows and my eyebrows are sparse. I haven't forgotten eyebrows ever. I stopped and bought a pencil to put eyebrows on.

All women are beautiful in my mind. I had the chance to work with make-up artists, and that helped me to work with cosmetics. And to know that sometimes it can be the cosmetics keeping the physical beauty showing, as we age.

And in the case of Mary Kay, the skin care line really helps with aging gracefully. But what truly is beauty? Inner beauty is what I enjoy seeing in women and in men.

Music is a wonderfully relaxing remedy. There is a great YouTube video of a lady called the spoon lady, I think. Have you heard? She is amazing. If you haven't, I will try to find the link for you.

Another great Q/A, Denise <3 Music is healing for the soul <3 I love listening to a wide variety of music ranging over several decades. I hate listening to music when someone is talking over it. I like to get into the music, really belting out the songs.

Beauty really is in the eyes of the beholder. Whatever makes you happy and like yourself just do it. Good job.

This article got me thinking about my own views on beauty. I've always believed that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, whether it's a piece of art or a kind gesture. Music, too, has a way of touching the soul. I remember a time when I was feeling down, and a particular song lifted my spirits. It's amazing how something so simple can have such a profound impact. Beauty truly is in the details.
