Sweet silent love

There they were sitting on that cold hard bench

Next to each other but so far at the same time

The air was cool and crispy with a hint of salt

Across from them was the beach waves crashing birds flying overhead squawking and communicating with eachother in their own way telling stories of where they’ve been and what they’ve seen.

The sun slowly setting on the horizon with its glare and warm glow sparkling back at them

There they still sat in silence yet speaking more than words ever could

He reached over and covered her hand with his letting her know that im here for you as he watched that one glistening tear roll down her cheek his heart aching to see her soul in pain like that she looked over at him his eyes staring deep into her eyes with them saying I know your pain I felt the hurt you’re not alone im here next to you don’t be afraid.

As she stared back at him with more tears rolling down her face they said thankyou I really need you right now stay with me

Her vulnerability with the shocked facial expression the coldness of her hand that he still had over hers cut him to his core he wanted to hold her so tight so that she knew all was going to be ok but he knew better that hurt could not just be hugged out but he wanted to feel like he was magic that he could absolve all her pain and throw it into the ocean and let it drift away.

She squeezed his hand and in the midst of her anguish managed to give him a wry smile he still had never broke his eye contact with her and his eyes said back with a smile of his own im not going anywhere you can count on me.

She jolted at that moment as a small tug boat blew its horn and they both let out a small chuckle at that very moment their eyes said to eachother see life is so unpredictable with sudden changes and interruptions when you least expect them.

Some good some bad but they both shrugged at eachother as if to say that’s life.

He pulled her close and held her there for a moment at that same time a fluttering white butterfly flew around them and encircling them round and round and then landed on their intertwined hands a sign from above that all will be well in due time.

Breaking that hold they pulled apart and she pulled out a pen and a piece scrap paper that she had found in the bottom of her bag and wrote:

I want to thankyou for being here in this moment giving me the comfort that I need and the warmth of your heart giving me hope in my moment of despair.

Thankyou for this you are a special being and there aren’t many of you left on this planet of ours.

She handed him the note and as he read it he smiled and was so glad that he could be here for her and be her rock a shoulder to cry on a soul to lean on.

He wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but here right now next to her with her angelic and currently hurt presence to ease her pain even for a little even for a bit just to lighten her darkness.
