Statins may decrease the risk of mortality among women with breast cancer, a new study has discovered.
The study, published in JAMA Network Open this month, discovered that the risk of dying was significantly lower in women with breast cancer whose cholesterol levels are released after starting statins, which are regularly prescribed lipid-lowering medications.
Past studies have recommended high cholesterol levels may be linked to a bigger risk of breast cancer. It is realized that statin use breaks cancer cell signaling and tumor growth.
