Sing Us the Song of the Century...
An Unofficial Challenge!
Welcome to the song of the century challenge!
EDIT: since I was asked, you are allowed to use basically any song even if it’s not from the last century. I just couldn’t think of a cool title.
This unofficial challenge is all about the song that means the most to you.
This could be your favourite song, but it doesn't have to be.
It could be a song that has got you through something difficult or...
...it could be a song that has helped you celebrate a milestone.
Let's take a look at the things you need in order to be considered...
1) Embed the song
This could either be a YouTube video or a Spotify link. The song just needs to be there somehow. It doesn't even matter if it's a lyric video on YouTube. It just needs to be the song. You won't be judged on the visuals of the video, as long as the song is present.
2) Tell me the story
In 500 words maximum, tell me the story of how the song matters to you and why it is so important to your life.
- Was there a particular instance or event to which this song applies?
- Is there a celebration which this song helped you let your hair down to?
- Did something go wrong and this song gave you a helping hand?
It's all you and this one song... so tell me what the story is.
3) Keep it to 2 per person, please
I understand there will be more than one song you probably want to talk about. That's cool. Two entries maximum per person is available - I'm going to have to read all of them and I'm also trying to not make people wait too long for prizes 🥺

This sounds fun! Not sure if I will get to it.
Thanks for the prompt - I'd been in a bit of a rut lately, and this helped me out of it. Not sure how well this meets the brief, though. Maybe it's more about a time and a place, rather than a song. But the song is kind of an anthem for that time and place, so maybe it works.
