Rupi Kaur's Balance Writing Prompts - What have you done in the past month to treat yourself?
A friend and I went to the theatre to see Jersey Boys. We hosted a gathering with a couple of my children and most of their children. I spent three days with other trainers/friends. The longer days were because we had dinner together each night.
And there is always the treat of riding my motorcycle. And the fall scenery was great too. I also went for lunch with a couple of friends that I train with outside of that group gathering. And I spent time putting photos in photo books. It was fun going through and remembering.
In my bedroom, I have a bookcase full of photo books that I have plans to label once they are all in books. Hubby says when you are gone, many won't know who those photos are pictures of. Okay, he's right. I will do that next. And that should be fun too!
Rupi Kaur's Balance Writing Prompts - Things I prioritized five years ago that aren't important to me now are ______________.
Being still new in retirement five years ago, I wanted to manage my time, so early and late-day appointments were unnecessary. I didn't want to overbook my time as I was retired and needed to figure out what I wanted to do now that I was retired.
Prior to retirement, I did not think much about what I would do in retirement, and because of having cancer, I knew I couldn't keep up the pace I had done before cancer.
Now, I can do a meeting for three full days and have to take at least two full days to recuperate. I still do those 3-day meetings and 3-day trainings. I am tired and would like to see me replaced by a younger someone. Someday it will be necessary but for today I will continue.
There are some things I continue. I find my own replacements. I am so proud of my replacements too. I am in the middle of that process again. Where I had a weekly group, I am now every other week as I found someone to share that with me.
Sometimes I feel like it is important to continue working and reaching out to do more and other days my thoughts are that I am busy enough and I should take more time with family and friends. That is important too.
Rupi Kaur's Balance Writing Prompts - The last time I stood up for myself by setting boundaries was __________________. Doing this made me feel ______________.
Today, when my husband put the mouse trap on the kitchen counter after extracting a dead mouse, I let him know that was not okay. I did not move it as he may have wished me to. It is his job to be the mouse guy in our house. What else are husbands good for some may say?
I don't like dead critters, even mice and flies which can be a nuisance. I want no part in killing them or disposing of them. In the past it was husband number one, then husband number two. Between my husbands, my mother was the best critter-getter and prevention specialist of all.
She would go around the house and make sure all the cracks for mice to get through were filled with some sort of foam. I am not good at any of the things that make a good critter catcher or protector of property. My mother was and my husband is. He just doesn't realize how gross what he did is.
That is my job to let him know, protecting my boundaries. And I did. He will get his reward when he moves it and doesn't do that again. He likes to tease so it may happen again and the telling on my part will get bigger!
Boundaries are important as otherwise there may be loaded guns, traps and other hunting paraphernalia all over the house.

Nice work
I love how your set boundaries with your husband. Sometimes they're truly crucial for our mental health
Where can I buy that Positivitea. I love this new word you made up. If I have a coffee shop, I would have this tea. You are a busy lady
All these writings to these prompts are just kind of eye-opening and at times I even think how does this fit my living. Great work.
