Personal Growth, And What About Going Out To A Party Alone
Gregory Stock, Ph.D. The Book of Questions — 108 & 109
The Book of Questions, by Gregory Stock, Ph.D prompts — You are invited to a party that will be attended by many fascinating people you’ve never met. Would you want to go if you had to go by yourself?
A party
Maybe
If it’s arty
love that for me
Do I need another
not really brother
Plus one isn’t always easy
to get someone who’s free
Would it stop me from going
I don’t think so, won’t keep me from showing
I could check it out
And see what it’s all about
I may find some interesting peeps
to keep me entertained, and if there are creeps
I can leave the place sooner than planned.
No problem, I’m open, and I hope there is a good band.
The Book of Questions, by Gregory Stock, Ph.D, prompts — Since adolescence, in what three-year period do you feel you experienced the most personal growth and change?
It would have to be in my mid-twenties
After my babies were born, then into my later twenties
When I got sober and out of my addiction
As addiction is quite the affliction
The family program came first
Then I got rid of the thirst
Counseling was a small part
Support groups fed my heart
It wasn’t easy, that's for sure
Though I soon began to mature
Growing up with alcoholism
and quite a bit of racism
Is a tough way to come up
It takes longer to become a grown-up
Feelings build-up
There can be several blow-ups
That doesn’t always let-up
Lots of feelings mixed-up
Changes take time to fix
You can take some picks
at all those conflicts
But it will still need a bag of tricks
We broke the family rules
for the children were schooled
in what not to do. Rules are: Do not feel
do not trust, do not ask We fix: will seal
the deal on mending and healing
Babies all better — all of my crew
Momma good too

My anxiety could never. I wouldn't even go to a party alone, even if it has people I know 😅😅
I would strongly disagree with the first question. I am not good at meeting people because I have no self-confidence anymore. Strange for someone who has stood before a couple of thousand people to deliver speeches. Meeting new people is not one of my strong points.
Such an inspiration to all of us, Denise <3
Heartfelt, eloquent & inspiring! Thx 4 sharing Denise! 🌸
