Have you ever wondered how to navigate a world overwhelmed by regrets and disease? Have you ever questioned why love seems so elusive, and why peace something we all yearn for has become an impossible dream, often turning into chaos and destruction?

Navigating the complexities of our modern world can be overwhelming, especially when faced with the harsh realities of violence, disease, and social unrest. It's natural to wonder why love and peace seem to be increasingly elusive, and why nations struggle to maintain harmony.

As we emerge into the year 2025, in the early month of January, a year many hoped would bring peace and prosperity, a year that should have been filled with celebration, achievement, and joy, we instead find ourselves in a time of sorrow and regret, both within and beyond our borders.

I’ve witnessed the tragedy in Nigeria, where a so-called gospel singer, driven by jealousy, murdered his girlfriend in cold blood.

In Congo, the president ordered the brutal killing of over 174 young people accused of treason, including the son of a wealthy politician, who was allegedly manipulated by his father into betraying his country in a misguided attempt to free it from corrupt leadership.

Donald Trump’s ominous statement that “All hell will break loose in Central Africa before I take office if the hostages aren’t released” paints a picture of escalating tension and unrest.

In the United States, the attempt to ban TikTok after it became a platform for behaviors that corrupted the youth, and incidents of leaking confidential information ended in significant failures. The recognition of same-sex relationships has sparked heated debates, with even church leaders who should uphold biblical teachings asking for mercy for the LGBT community, despite the church's traditional stance.

The President of Burkina Faso survived an assassination attempt, and countless individuals struggling with drug addiction lost their battle for recovery, many failing to reach a place of healing. So many stories remain untold, hidden in the shadows of our world.

In all of this, I ask myself, “Will the world ever be a better place”, or is this the end? Just as the Lord once cleansed the world with water during Noah’s time, I wonder what will happen in our days.
