Self-love is the road toward healing. These prompts are an invitation to step inside yourself. Rupi Kaur

Looking at self and what is needed is not always a fun thing to do. I watched a video of me speaking to a group of counselors that was taped for other counselors to watch this past summer. I need to lose some weight is what I saw. I liked how I was dressed and my make-up was okay.

It is sometimes okay to see ourselves on camera. Then I remembered that they used to say we always look at least ten pounds more on camera. I got a laugh out of that one. I looked a many more than ten pounds overweight.

And if I am going to love myself just the way I am, it is time to start now. I looked great! I sounded good and we got only good reviews. How is that for self-love and stepping inside self?

Rupi Kaur's Self-love Writing Prompts - If money wasn't an issue, I'd buy my family and friends ___________.

Last year I ordered items from Publishers Clearinghouse (PCH) and was a person interested in winning the large cash prize. I now know it is more of a scam. Most of the items are of low quality. The post office says they hate that older people especially are being taken advantage of.

That was when I laughed as it occurred to me that they were talking about me to my face. I didn't give it much thought other than to think about the people I could help with that money. I suppose it would make a difference in my life too.

Mostly I thought of whom I could help out in my family and friends group that are struggling, and then there are certain charities and causes I believe in that always need more support.

Someone did benefit from PCH as the things I purchased went into a large bin for Christmas presents. Then at Christmas time I pulled out the bin at our family get-together and asked, "Who would like this?" as I held up each article in the bin. Almost everything went.

And grandchildren especially appeared pleased with their selection. So even if that wasn't exactly what I had in mind someone got to enjoy the items.

Rupi Kaur's Self-love Writing Prompts - Write a letter to someone who bullied you in the past. What would you want them to know?

Dear Bully,

Being bullied made me stronger! Thank you. I know now that you weren't feeling good about yourself and that someone was bullying you. I was loved and always knew that.

I could deal with your bullying because of that love and somehow knowing that what you said and did was not against me but your bully. I forgave you almost as soon as it happened. And if not soon after, then by now for sure.

With racism, I used to tell myself it is ignorance, you don't know any better. It's too bad you learned that from a family member or a friend. I would try to change the subject when it came up to stop the negative things from spewing out. It didn't always work but sometimes it did.

Then I would think about how you are missing out and will miss out on so much in this life. It can't be a good time to be so negative all the time.

My wishes for you are all good.

Love and Peace,

Denise

All your entries are great, and a lot of lessons are learned from them for me. The bullying letter was spot on even for me for I had a bully till one day I just turned around and told him just to quit, he didn't bother me anymore. PCH if you noticed have not had any of those winner commercials on lately at least I haven't seen any in more than a few years.
