Love with Compulsion- love story
Love story

Nagpur was a mysterious village in the middle of a deep forest. This village had a unique tradition, which the people there called “Naag-Bandhan”. According to this tradition, every girl had to worship at a special place in the village when she turned 21, where it was believed that the snake god himself comes to bless them.
A new dawn and an old fear
Sandhya was the village's most stunning young woman. She had dreams in her eyes, but she was bound in the chains of traditions. Her 21st birthday was about to come, and her parents reminded her that now she too would have to worship Naag-Bandhan. But Sandhya was very afraid of snakes since childhood.
“I am afraid of snakes, mother! I will not worship Naag-Bandhan,” Sandhya said crying.
“It is compulsion, Sandhya! This tradition protects us from the curse of the snake god,” her mother explained.
Suddenly in the forest…
That night, Sandhya went into the forest to escape her fear. She hoped that she could escape this tradition. But she lost her way and reached a mysterious place among the dense trees. There sat a huge Naag – black in colour, with glowing red eyes.
Sandhya's heart started beating fast. Her steps started to retreat, but then the Naag slowly changed its form and turned into a handsome young man.
"Don't be afraid, Sandhya!" The youthful man grinned. "You... who are you?" Sandhya asked stammering.
"I am Nagendra, the prince of Naglok. I am the secret of the Naag-Bandhan Puja you are running away from," he said.
A game of fate – love or compulsion?
Nagendra told that the people of Nagendra had made a pact with the Naags centuries ago – every hundred years a girl had to marry the prince of Naglok, so that the balance between Naag and humans is maintained.
Sandhya's eyes were filled with panic and rage. "So does that mean I am bound to stay with you?"
"Not bound, you can come back if you want. However, Nagendra stated, "I will love you like a human being loves another human being if you come with me." Sandhya was confused. On one hand there was her fear, and on the other hand there was something in Nagendra's eyes that was stopping her.
Test of love
Sandhya gave Nagendra a condition - "If you really love me, prove it to me that it is not just a compulsion. I want freedom, not just love."
Nagendra smiled and said, "I will give you three tests. If you succeed, I will give you your freedom."
First Test – Victory over Fear
Nagendra took Sandhya to a dark cave and said, “There is a special Naag Mani here. If you can touch it without getting scared, I will believe that you have overcome your fear.”
Sandhya was trembling, but she gathered courage and slowly moved forward. As soon as she touched the Mani, light spread in the cave and suddenly all the snakes disappeared.
“You defeated your fear,” Nagendra said.
Second Test – Renunciation
Nagendra gave Sandhya a chance to return to the village. “If you really want freedom, you can go back right now. But if you feel that I am not just a Naag, but a true lover, then stay.”
Sandhya was moved to tears. She could have returned to the village, but her heart was drawn to Nagendra. “I will stay,” she said softly.
Third Test – Identifying Love
Now Nagendra put forth the final test – “If this is love, I can give up my serpent form. But this will be possible only when you accept from your heart that I
am your true lover.”
Sandhya looked into Nagendra’s eyes and realized that this love was not really an obligation. It was love bound by births. She extended her hand towards Nagendra and said, “I accept you as you are.”
As soon as Sandhya said this, Nagendra’s body began to glow and he became a complete human being.
Conclusion – Love or obligation?
Sandhya came to the realization that true love comes from the heart and cannot be coerced. Nagendra gave her freedom in love and this freedom
deepened their relationship.
Thus an obligation turned into love, and Sandhya and Nagendra vowed to be with each other forever.
