Lost Between Mirrors and Time
A poetic meditation on mirrors, time, and the divine distance within the self.

Here Luccian Layth is reflecting on what the self may be re-refracted in its mirror, between trial and betrayal, between inner death and inner light, the existential question takes place towards eternity, nothingness, and the Creator. It is a poetic excursion, between suspicion and definite affirmation, between obscurity and radiance, in which the way itself is the creature and the creature is the way.

✦ Poetic text
Does mirrors have anything in common with each other?
Or is my mirror of a picture of me?
No... it is unknown,
A science will unknown to scientists,
It possesses a world, and whispers freely into his ear,
Not knowledge of the unseen,
But certainty that brings not doubt.
I am blessed with this by the Creator,
and even should it be a life I should only live with hatred,
it was not a curse,
but a test, a slip, a mistake.
in my face there is neither resemblance nor otherwise.
nor has any mind touched my mind.
There are certain maladies, which have left me an inward dead body.
but there is light which is within me.
It is not evil...
but a desire of a way Of which alone He knows,
a course God has heated to my oneness.
Is it glory or torment?
I still wonder,
but inside I don't care.
Even if my vision is clouded,
I walk in my darkness,
thinking I am cursed,
the Cain of the earth,
running on it till the last hour...
Or perhaps time has an end?
Continued existence of nothingness,
Or a religious relationship with the Creation?
Or merely a glimmer of hope,
Sneaking through the cracks,
For a moment lighten our soul.
Then fading away?
I do not know...
But I carry on,
and a mute praying there is privy to my silent prayer.
and at my feebleness there is some certitude that knows no uncertainty,
that what is written for me
is the path,
and that the path... is me.
