If I were the prime minister...

A vision for better tomorrow

Lady Justice

Lady Justice is originated from Greek, Egyptian and Roman goddesses. If I were the prime minister, she would be my role model. Law and justice go hand in hand just like politics and civilians.

There are many problems in India, no doubt. First and foremost, it is the education sector — in Canada, public schooling is free till grade 12th. This is truly astounding because from where I come, nothing is free. Private schools do take tuition fee, but government/public schools are of no fees. It is the same in India, but with its limitations such as the infrastructure is not how it should be or the quality of education. Here, people take things lightly if they are not benefited from it. Don’t get me wrong now, there are a few good people left in my country, but are often suppressed or thrown into jail for no fault of their own. I would wanna work towards improving the infrastructure and hiring highly qualified teachers for government schools so that every child would get an equal chance at gaining both practical and theoretical knowledge.

Secondly, inequality is a major issue from everywhere I look, be it religion or gender. India is a country where you can find many religions and many languages, then why are people against muslims? Muslims deserve to be in this country, it is their country as much as it is anyones. My dad told me a story one day that muslims were banned or thrown out of their shops for selling bangles to ladies because they need a reason to touch hindu women. It is utter nonsense if you ask me, this country is inclining more towards protecting the “hindu dharam”, whereas we should be happy about the diversity we have in our country. Moving onto gender, I follow a page on instagram where they tell stories about the people of India. I see so many stories of women being harassed by their husbands and end up dying. In many rural areas, dowry and child marriage is still happening. Crimes go unreported because people are concerned about what the society would think about them.

I would build a world where every individual feels confident to claim their rightful place in society. Through spreading awareness and organizing workshops, I would remind everyone that this country is our shared home, where we coexist as equals, bound by the same rights and freedoms. For women, I want to ignite a fire of bravery — a belief that they are strong, capable, and deserving of respect. I would encourage them to stand up for themselves, to speak, and to never bow before injustice, knowing they are not alone.

As a leader, I would lead inspiring others not just through words, but through actions — equality and dignity for all.
