I have anxiety problems

This is how you can cope with anxiety

By Susan NnebePublished 9 months ago 3 min read

Daniella was sitting outside her house, feeling overwhelmed. It was a sunny afternoon; the sun was shining, but she had a heavy burden on her mind. She took a deep breath and said to herself, “I have anxiety problems. I need to talk to my friend about this.” For a long time, she had been struggling with her anxiety, and it was becoming unbearable and hard for her to manage.

Anxiety issues made Daniella

worry about everything. Simple tasks like going to the grocery store or meeting friends felt like climbing a mountain. She would often think, “What if I forget something?” or “What if I embarrass myself?” These thoughts made her feel scared all the time.

The struggles of Daniella were so much; she faced physical struggles, like her heart racing, palms sweating, and her stomach churning. Sometimes, she would feel dizzy or have trouble breathing. These feelings made her want to avoid situations that triggered her anxiety, which only made her feel more isolated.

Daniella also found it hard to sleep at night. Her mind would race with worries, and she couldn’t relax. She would lie in bed for hours, thinking about all the things that could go wrong. This lack of sleep made her feel even more anxious during the day, creating a cycle that was hard to break.

Social situations were another problem for her. Daniella is the type of lady that loves hanging out with friends, but anxiety makes it worse for her; whenever she is with friends, it makes her anxious. She would cancel plans at the last minute because the thought of being in a crowd felt too overwhelming.

The anxiety struggle of Daniella was so much. It made her think she wasn’t good enough or that people would judge her. This negative thinking made it hard for her to believe in herself. Anxiety can be a big problem and setback for someone who wants to be confident and happy.

What if I told you there are ways to cope with anxiety? Let me share some tips that can help.

Talking to someone you trust can help you cope with anxiety. Sharing your feelings with a friend or family member can help lighten the load. Your friend or family can give you all the support you need. Which can make you feel less alone.

Deep breathing helps to calm every anxiety, and practicing deep breathing can help calm your mind and body. When you feel anxious, try taking slow, deep breaths. Inhale through your nose for a count of four, hold for four, and exhale through your mouth for a count of four. Doing this a few times can help reduce anxiety and make you feel more relaxed.

Did you know exercise can also be helpful? Staying active can help with your anxiety problems. Exercise can be a great way to release built-up tension and improve your mood. Even a short walk outside can help clear your mind and boost your spirits.

How you create your schedule will determine how calm you will feel in your body and mind. So, creating a routine can also help manage anxiety. Have a daily schedule; make it well-structured. This can make you feel more in control.

What about mindfulness? Does it help anxiety? Practicing mindfulness can be beneficial. Mindfulness means being present in the moment and not letting your thoughts take over. You can try meditation or simply sit quietly and focus on your breath. I can tell you this works.

Asking for help is a good start; it can help you cope with anxiety. And don't neglect exercise and mindfulness; they are great ways to help you cope with anxiety issues.
