From Zero To Thousands
My Journey As An Author

From Struggles to Success: Why You Should Never Give Up on Your Dreams
In 2018, I took a leap of faith and published my first book. I didn’t have a roadmap, didn’t follow the “rules,” and honestly didn’t even know what I was doing. But I had a dream and a story to tell, so I dove in headfirst.
For years, people mocked me. They said I’d never get anywhere, that writing would never pay the bills. Even those closest to me doubted me, laughing at my efforts and dismissing my dreams. It was a constant uphill battle, and there were countless moments of self-doubt.
Some months, I earned nothing. Other months, just a few hundred dollars, never enough to live on. Every new year, the same questions came up: Why keep going? Why not give up? And I’ll admit, there were times I nearly did. The closest I ever came to throwing in the towel?
This year.
At the start of this year, I was ready to walk away. I even started looking for “normal” jobs, convinced that maybe everyone was right—that success as a writer wasn’t in the cards for me. But somewhere deep down, a small voice urged me to give it one last push.
And I’m so glad I listened.
Just two months after hitting my lowest point, everything changed. That month, I earned just under $2,000. The next month? $6,000. And the month after that? Over $11,000.
I couldn’t believe it. Had I quit, I would have never known what was waiting for me just on the other side of my doubt. Seven months later, my income continues to grow, and my life has transformed in ways I never imagined.
The same people who once told me to quit now say, “I always knew you could do it.” Others whisper behind my back, criticizing how much time I dedicate to my writing. But you know what? That’s okay. Because I’ve learned something invaluable:
Your biggest battle and weakest moment often come just before success.
If you’re struggling right now, feeling like giving up, I want you to remember this: You never know how close you are to your breakthrough. Keep pushing. Keep believing. The success you’re dreaming of could be closer than you think.
Had I given up, I would have walked away from a life I’d always wanted without even realizing how close I was to achieving it. Now, I spend my days doing what I love, proving that those early doubts—and the naysayers—were wrong all along.
My journey as an indie author has been anything but straightforward. Over the past months, I’ve found success by diversifying my efforts across multiple platforms, each contributing to the life I’ve built as a writer. Some platforms have been incredibly rewarding, while others… not so much.
This platform, for instance, hasn’t brought me the same success as others. But instead of walking away, I’ve decided to embrace it as an opportunity—a place to connect, share, and grow in a different way. Starting today, I’m committing to a daily post that will shadow my life as an indie author.
Through these posts, I want to give you an unfiltered look at the highs and lows of this career: the struggles, the victories, and everything in between. I’ll share the lessons I’ve learned along the way, and maybe even a few stories that bring you deeper into my world. It will even tell the highs and lows of family life as an author.
Beyond documenting my journey, I also plan to create posts that offer guidance and advice for fellow writers. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for ways to navigate the complexities of indie publishing, I hope to provide insights that can help you find your own path to success.
My goal is to make this platform a space where we can learn and grow together—a place where I can give back to the community that has supported me in so many ways. So, stay tuned for stories, advice, and a candid glimpse into the life of an indie author.
Let’s keep writing, dreaming, and creating together. 💫
Here’s my message to you: Don’t quit. Your story is still being written. 💫
