Faith, Wisdom, and Love — The Man Who Saved His Home
Witchcraft fears, social pressure, and a man’s unshakable integrity
The bride had a high fever.
“What should we do?” her mother-in-law asked anxiously.
She had only arrived an hour ago. The laughter of the wedding still echoed, but panic quickly replaced joy. The groom didn’t listen to anyone and rushed his bride to the hospital.
Back home, the women had begun their whispers.
“She brought illness with her the moment she stepped in!”
“You should’ve chosen carefully—he’s your only son!”
“I suspect black magic!”
The usual gossip filled the air like thick smoke.
Two hours later, the couple returned. The doctor had given a drip and some medicines. But the fever didn’t leave. It would rise and fall like tides.
The mother-in-law grew suspicious and said aloud:
“Son, I think your wife is under a spell. You should return her to her parents.”
The groom calmly but firmly said:
“Mother, I married her. I’ll stand with her in both joy and pain.”
Not satisfied, the mother asked for the bride’s shirt.
“Give it to me. I’ll take it to a healer.”
“Mother,” said the groom, “blaming everything on black magic isn’t right. If that were true, half the country would be under spells!”
Still, she secretly took the shirt to a local spiritual healer.
The Healer's Trap
“She’s under strong black magic. Someone close to you did this,”
the healer said, using his go-to line.
“She’s your enemy, doesn’t want to see you happy,” he added.
The mother-in-law whispered, “I knew it! I saw her smirking at the wedding.”
The healer instructed:
“Bring your daughter-in-law every month for four months. Bring 100 berry leaves and give her this enchanted water.”
Excited, she went back and told her son,
“I told you! It’s black magic!”
The groom replied,
“Mother, accusing someone without proof is a major sin. It’s rooted in envy, suspicion, and slander.”
“I don’t need a sermon!” she snapped. “Just bring the leaves and take her for healing!”
“My wife is my honor,” he said, “She won’t go anywhere. If there’s any spell, the cure is in the Quran. We’ll increase our recitation.”
His mother fell silent. But the question lingered:
“We all read the Quran too. Why didn’t it help?”
Her son spoke the truth:
“Because you haven’t paid zakat on your jewelry for ten years. You invested your inheritance in interest-based accounts. Riba is war against Allah. How can blessings come from haram wealth?”
She was shaken.
The Truth Unveiled
They ran medical tests — it was a kidney infection. Treatment began. In a few months, the bride was completely healthy. Later, she was blessed with a child too.
The mother-in-law had a change of heart.
She repented, took spiritual guidance, sold her gold to pay zakat, shut down the interest account, and donated the ill-gotten money without seeking reward.
Now the house is filled with peace and joy.
The bride who once seemed “unlucky” is now praised as “blessed.”
The Real Hero
And the real hero?
The groom — whose unwavering faith, spiritual clarity, and masculine honor saved a home from crumbling.
