Don't Stop Now! Keep Writing

Momma didn't raise no quitter

Some of the best writers we know today struggled to get to where they are now. In fact, there are many people who believed that giving up was their best option and thought they would never make it with their passion, but they continued to write or do what they were passionate about to get to where they are today. For the writers out there, whether you love her or hate her, J.K. Rowling was an inspiration not only for writers in general but also for women writing fantasy.

J.K. Rowling was rejected about 13 times when she pitched Harry Potter. She kept having to go through different publishers who just wouldn't give her a chance until she finally got her break and look what happened. She became a Billionaire from her series alone, and it has become one of the biggest franchises in all of history. Not only do the games break records, but anything with the name 'Harry Potter' on it instantly gains attention. Even after she got her break, though, she wasn't out of the ballpark. You see, even after Harry Potter was published, they wanted her to use a male name because they believed that young men and boys wouldn't read a fantasy book by a female author, especially during that time. She herself even revealed that they wanted her to use a gender-neutral name to appeal to both boys and girls, but as Harry Potter became famous, she was outed as a woman anyway. Despite her hardships and rejections, she still prevailed in the writing world, and her books inspired many stories.

Dr. Seuss is another author who was rejected repeatedly. In fact, he was rejected 27 times. I know a lot of people know of his most famous book 'Green Eggs and Ham' and the several other books he wrote, like 'One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.' He became a very famous children's author. Granted, he's not a good person at all, from what he did to his ex-wife to the racism he portrayed in his books. However, he is still referred to today as one of the best children's book authors of all time. He did prevail in the end when it came to writing and had his break.

You can find many authors who believed that they would never get their big break or that they would never make it, but they continued to write. And it's not just authors. Several different content creators, workers, and people all around the world have done what they could to become who they wanted, and some have accomplished their dreams. The road is going to be difficult; you will feel like giving up. You will believe you are not good enough. You are going to feel like there is no point in it at all, but you have to keep trying. Writing is not easy, and there are a lot of people competing for that same spot, but you have to do what you can to get to the top.

Aspiring to be a writer is a challenging journey, but it's one we're both on. We may face rejections and setbacks, but we can't give up. We're in this together, and we can keep pushing forward, supporting each other along the way.
