Civil-musings 3
I should stop with these subtitles

So we keep learning about the past. New discoveries come to light. More and more, it seems, every day. I’d say there absolutely has been an increase in archaeological discoveries lately. Our capability only grows, along with our knowledge.
And what comes with knowledge? Besides the usual, that is? Well, not just a different way of knowing something… but a different way of thinking about it. There’s a YouTube video called “New Archaeological Finds that Change Everything.” That pretty much says it all, doesn’t it? Archaeology is our window into the past. So when something is found that flies in the face of what we thought we knew, we have to change what we know.
That’s not so easy for the mainstream to do. In fact, most of it has resisted that. But how much bigger can the future be once we realize how much bigger the past was than we thought?

I was amazed when I realized that the 1800s were only 200 years before the 2000s…that’s like the lifetimes of two people. I really liked the nostalgic tone in this piece :)
