China’s import and export of steel, rare earths, iron ore, automobiles, etc. from January to September

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, the import and export data for steel, rare earths, automobiles, and other commodities in China from January to September 2025 are as follows:

1.Steel​​

•In September 2025, China exported 10.465 million metric tons of steel, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%.

•From January to September, China exported 87.955 million metric tons of steel, up 9.2% year-on-year.

•In September, China imported 548,000 metric tons of steel, down 1.1% year-on-year.

•From January to September, China imported 4.532 million metric tons of steel, a year-on-year decrease of 12.6%.

2.Rare Earths​​

•In September 2025, China exported 4,000.3 metric tons of rare earths.

•From January to September, cumulative exports reached 48,355.7 metric tons, up 12.6% year-on-year.

•In September, China imported 6,864.7 metric tons of rare earths.

•From January to September, cumulative imports amounted to 78,898.4 metric tons, a year-on-year decrease of 23.0%.

3.Iron Ore​​

•In September, China imported 116.326 million metric tons of iron ore and its concentrates, an increase of 11.101 million metric tons compared to the previous month, up 10.5% month-on-month.

•From January to September, cumulative imports reached 917.685 million metric tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.1%.

4.Automobiles​​

•In September 2025, China exported 756,000 vehicles.

•From January to September, cumulative exports totaled 5.684 million vehicles, up 21.0% year-on-year.

5.Copper Materials​​

•In September 2025, China imported 485,000 metric tons of unwrought copper and copper products.

•From January to September, cumulative imports reached 4.019 million metric tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.7%.

•In September 2025, China imported 2.587 million metric tons of copper ore and its concentrates.

•From January to September, cumulative imports of copper ore and its concentrates amounted to 22.634 million metric tons, up 7.7% year-on-year.

6.Ships​​

•In September 2025, China exported 543 ships.

•From January to September, cumulative exports reached 5,226 ships, up 23.5% year-on-year.

7.Aluminum​​

•In September 2025, China exported 521,000 metric tons of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products.

•From January to September, cumulative exports reached 4.516 million metric tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.1%.

8.Household Appliances

•In September 2025, China exported 366.563 million household appliances.

•From January to September, cumulative exports totaled 335.9991 million units, up 0.8% year-on-year.
