After several months of experimenting with Bluesky and Twitter, (I know it’s called X, but Twitter is a much cooler name lol), I think that I prefer one of these social media apps over the other.

I was thinking about writing an article about both social media apps, but I decided it would be best to wait until I started to see more results through my experiment! After waiting for a long time, I have reached results that I was hoping for, and now I am finally going to share my journey with both of these apps!

When I first started creating my profiles, I thought it would be best to start both apps around the same time, to see how the progress would be through would be like.

I had signed up with Bluesky and Twitter around December in 2024.

I have been advertising my writing through Bluesky, and I advertise my horror blog through Twitter. I thought Twitter would be the perfect app to introduce my horror blog, and it appears to be working so far!

Bluesky is perfect for my writing, so it has worked wonders for me!

Here are the results for my follower count for Twitter:

For Twitter, I have received about 26 followers. I have stayed at this same count for a long time, and even when I lose a couple of followers, it goes back to the same number of 26.

I gotta be honest, I think that Twitter is really tough to get followers. I feel that people are so selective of who they want to follow. I totally understand that everyone has a preference. And to be fair, I haven’t really posted as often, but wow, I thought I would have at least been close to 100 followers.

I do now have 35 followers, so I guess I'm getting slightly halfway to 100 followers now lol.

Even Instagram is easier to get followers than this!

I’m more than halfway to 100 followers on Bluesky. One of my goals for 2025 was to hit 100 followers, and it looks like that mini goal is about to be accomplished! I do think that Bluesky is much cooler, since this platform mostly consists of artists and writers!

I do now have about 65 followers now, so now I'm even closer to reaching my goal of 100 followers!

I think that is why it’s so easy to get followers through Bluesky, and that’s because I haven’t really posted everyday either!

I feel that it’s easy to find my people here, and I love coming across horror art or horror fans!

So, overall…what is my favorite platform?

I think that Bluesky easily takes the crown.

It’s so unique compared to so many other social media apps, and I love how easy it is to use! I have more fun posting my horror stuff through Bluesky, and I have been having fun meeting other horror fans on the app! People also love to post quotes on there from books or films, and it feels like a really awesome community to hang out in!

Plus, the butterfly icon is so simple, but it’s so iconic! Kinda like Twitter, that used to have a bird. Man, do I miss that blue bird lol. The X is neat, but it’s not the same without the bird.

What do you think is the better social media app?

Are you a Bluesky or Twitter fan?
