You are a Badass Deck, by Jen Sincero — It’s time to get mighty clear about what makes you happy and what makes you feel the most alive, and then create it instead of pretending you can’t have it.

The cards in this deck were created from a book You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life.

Aliens sitting with me

It’s easy to see

how special life is

no giving me the biz

only simple lessons

of how life can be sons

spending time with brothers

children, grands, and others

30 degrees last week and 70 today

so much beauty on this Sunday

BE THE ALIEN — Imagine that you’re an alien who suddenly swooped down to Earth to inhabit your own body. Everything about this life is new to you. You look around — what do you see? What is this person so obviously awesome at? What resources and opportunities are available to them? As the alien, to whom everything is new and exciting and there’s nothing at risk and no past to lug around, what are you going to do with this incredible new life you’ve stepped into? Be the alien for twenty-four hours and see what you come up with. Jen Sincero

We throw a wet blanket of ho-hummery over our lives when we live in fear of what others might think instead of in celebration of who we are. Jen Sincero

Imagine the girl above on the bench as the little guy on the bench next to her. And, of course the girl taking the place of that little guy. I can hear their thoughts and picture what they see.

The alien sees the beauty of the nature around him. While the girl sees that it is almost winter and soon there will be snow. She then says, “Why didn’t I bring a sweater? It is getting colder as I sit here.”

The alien says when hearing her, “I must have taken the heat with me when we switched! Sorry!”

The girl when looking at herself says, “Wow, I have a lot of hair! Too much! I need to get rid of some of that hair!”

“I will take it!” the alien quickly responded! “I love your hair! It is so cool. I can only imagine how wonderful that would be!” Denise Lindquist, Author

Just in the above interaction, I can only imagine how critical I can be with how I look, how I think, and what would impress me from an alien’s viewpoint, versus how I see the world.

Thankfully much of the time I can stay positive. I am especially positive about others and less so with myself! This is something I work on.

An alien is inside of me

causing me to see

me in a different light

not quite so uptight

~

Much more pleasant

at least in the present

So grateful for so very much

So aware of what I touch

and less critical of such

things as the hutch

in my dining room

Time to try out my bridegroom

~

Oh no, did I just say that

someone made me say that, my brat

I try on different things, like a different hat

due to allergies — no cat

working to get rid of some fat

how is that for where I'm at

Now, enough of this chat!

This was so comforting. You gave quotes from others — advice that are realistic and uplifting. Wow, I just love it. Those words from Jen Sincero, was exactly what I needed as well. I am glad I clicked on this. I love how you brought the cover photo to life by adding your commentary. Your analogy really helped to show how to put these advice into practice. Loved the poem as well, made me giggle in some parts. Well written and engaging. Well done.

You are one for adapting yourself and your ideas and thoughts just as how you emphasized the importance of the second prompt. Good work.
