Around My Campus

Last Monday, on the red date national holiday, I spent time visiting my university with my close friend. We had an appointment at 08:00 am, like arriving at class first in the morning. I met him because it has been a long time no too see him since graduation in the university. I liked discussion with him about problem campus until topic was very sensitive.

“Let’s go around campus!” He said.

“Let’s go!” I was so excited around my campus. We directly walked around campus even though it was quiet without people because of the red date national holiday. I liked the atmosphere on campus because there are many trees, which made my brain feel fresh. There are many trees very suitable for students on campus refreshing their minds to overcome stress during studying.

I did around computer laboratory & special laboratory for engineering. Me & him stopped in the Japanese club student activity unit room. “This door is more broken.” Said him.

I looked at this door that was broken. “Yes, it is severe.” I said.

Next, we did around saw one of the building campus was well-known scary. Saw this building campus made me get goosebumps because I have experienced an unexpected incident. I remembered when I took a class in the afternoon, there was someone who knocked on the door; my lecturer opened the door, and it turned out there was no one there. The incident made me afraid. Before the afternoon class started, I went to the toilet near my class. Arrived, the toilet door was suddenly closed alone from inside because of the wind strongly. I was afraid and back to class again for a while. Then, I went back to the toilet, and this toilet door could open again.

After seeing this building, we did around while enjoying the trees on campus very much. I looked at the canteen campus. I remembered after class ended, I spent time at lunch in the canteen with my close friends while talking and joking. Now, this canteen was just memories for me, and I miss the vibe of it. We did continue around some classrooms where I studied it with my friends. After that, I looked at one of the places where I did my internship report & thesis defense room. We took a break while sitting in the front of the civil engineering laboratory. We talked about campus period.

“What do you prefer studying at the university or working?” I asked him.

He said, “I prefer studying at the university.”

"Why?” I asked him again.

"Because studying at the university is not as heavy as working. The most heavy just meet the lecturer.” He said. For me, campus life was very fun, where I met friends frequently, had different personal lectures, and the campus atmosphere made me happy.

Last, we did around of the English laboratory room. I remembered this room that I followed ELC (English Language Center) with my level of English was 3 & 4. There was an English lecturer level 4, who was very kind to me. He also wanted to speak English with me. He liked that there were students who asked him if they didn’t understand English. He explained again until they understood.

I was very satisfied around campus with my close friend. I talked with him in the new student reception room. We talked about how that working world is very cruel. But somehow, I would prefer campus vibes before covid-19 than after covid-19; it changed everything 100%.

I remembered the on campus period with struggling was extremely incredible. I did remember first became new student in the university with excited fully and met new friends. But above all, this semester was very challenging and difficult, where I had many assignments that were given by my lecturers, which made me cry. First it was difficult, but I could do it.

When I faced the internship report, I had to work on both. It seems difficult, but I could work it. The most challenging part was the thesis defense, with my heart beating fast and nervous. When I listened to the announcement with my examiner lecturer, I declared passed. This was my sweet moment, and I was thankful to God because He gave me a smooth thesis defense. Arrived at the moment of graduation, I was so happy I could attend graduation with my parents. I was so proud of myself struggling and studying in the university alone.
