A Writing Challenge to End The Year With
The End of Year 31-Day Writing Challenge. How will you end this year?
The end of the year is here! Can you hardly beleive it? As creators we find ourselves caught in the craze of the New Year's resolutions...but what if we get ahead of that?
What are your New Year's resolutions? Do you have any goals for the new year? How do you build a writing habit that lasts? How do you build a sustainable writing habit?
These are all very valid questions and I have answers…Although, some you have to answer for yourself.
Get ahead of the crowd by starting The End of Year 31-day writing challenge. Finish the year with a new writing habit or with a more robust writing habit!
Not only are we going to talk about what that will look like but we are also going to talk about how to build a writing habit. Then join the challenge and see how far you go ending the year with a bang and beginning the next one ahead of the goals and dreams you want to achieve.
Everyone else will be setting their New Year’s resolution and you? Well, you’ll be a month into smashing your goals.
What are your writing goals?
This is a question that only you can answer. Set a five-minute timer to write those goals down. If you are an absolute beginner write one goal to start with.
If you’re asking how do I know what my writing goals are. Some tips can include setting a daily or weekly word count goal. Find a milestone that you can set for yourself and make it that! Then you’re sorted for finding out what your goals are.
How do I build a writing habit that sticks?
Save your eye roll, dear writers…
The answer to this will not be “write every day.”
That is just not realistic for every writer and it doesn’t have to be. So, why are you asking me to write every day in the EY 31-Day End of Year Writing challenge (what a mouthful)? I’m so glad you asked!
For some absolute beginners wanting to build a writing habit this can feel overwhelming. If you’re a perfectionist, well, lord have mercy if you miss a day…
Instead of telling you that you must write every day I am going to say this – write as often as you can.
This could be writing twice a week, or three times a week – the point is to build consistency.
Next, don’t be afraid to embrace your imperfections. Enjoy the writing process and challenge yourself to love the editing process as well. Be brave. Be humble.
What is the End of Year 31-Day Writing Challenge?
It’s a challenge that will help you get ahead of your writing goals. It’s a challenge and I’m sure one of many that will help you start writing and keep writing.
You, as a creator, will get a daily prompt, and it’s up to you to write whatever comes to mind. Set a timer and let yourself go…forget all the small things.
since I did say that you just need consistency so writing every day is encouraged however if it is not doable for you. No sweat! Do what you can to build consistency. Small steps and often.
So...How does the writing challenge work?
Every day there will be a prompt sent via email. You can subscribe here…..
How Many Words Should I Write per prompt?
No, there’s no word count although a minimum of 100 words is suggested. For those who have been writing for a while, it’s good to go further and try writing 500 -1000 words per prompt.
Why Should I Do The End of Year 31-Day Writing Challenge? … or why should I do any writing challenge? Do Writing challenges work?
Lots of questions…I know…lucky for you there are answers.
Why do a writing challenge? To get you started! To get you into a creative community that will encourage you and give you the feedback you are worthy of.
A writing challenge — The End of Year 31-Day Writing Challenge to be exact, is worth doing because you can get ahead of all the New Year’s resolution craze and keep it up! This is meant to help you build a habit that won’t trail off by March. How? Acountability!
You can submit what you work on and get the feedback you deserve!
I leave you with that dear writers.
Hope to see you on December 1st! Day 1 of the writing challenge!
How will you end the year?
