Look at the brake pads. If the brake pads have become worn and its thickness has decreased, then changing the brake pad can fix the problem.
Check the rotors. The rotors can also wear, damaged or warped. Such rotors can lead to brake failure and increase the vibrations in your car. Replace the rotors with similar rotors.
Check the vacuum system and the brake boosters. If there is any fault any of them, then the brake pedals would be very hard to press.
