Proton Suprima S is equipped with a 1.6L turbo engine with 138 hp /5,000 rpm and 200 Nm / 2000~4000 rpm, matched with a CVT gearbox, with a simulated 7-speed ProTronic function, 0–100km/h in 9.9 seconds, the top speed is 190 km/h. Looking at the data alone, it seems that Suprima S is not like a turbo car. In actual driving, you will not feel the intervention of the turbo at low speeds. The power will be clearly felt at 3,000 rpm. Instead of using enough power, you can say that Suprima S is sensitive. From time to time, you can hear the sound of the turbo operating, and the overall driving feeling is very passionate. Its acceleration power is similar to that of a 1.8L natural engine. This CVT gearbox is smoother than the Iriz, but the power connection is not very good. There will still be a little frustration when you release the throttle at low speed. I believe the software can solve this. The shape and size of the paddle shifters are appropriate, but the gearbox is not agile in the manual mode. The gearbox does not allow you to downgrade two gears continuously. The engine noise is also obvious due to the increased speed. The ability to cope with high-speed overtaking is average. The overall power performance is considered balanced.
