Shanghai Auto Show 2021: Toyota's Crown Vellfire twin engine announces price

Toyota has taken us by surprise at the Auto Shanghai 2021 by bringing the new Crown to the motor show. And for the regulars who might mistake it for a sedan, it's actually a minivan which is sold as the Vellfire in India, just that it wears a new badge in the Chinese market and it has received very subtle cosmetic updates. So essentially it's a minivan with the legendary Crown logo and there is also a Lexus-badged LM version in some markets. The Crown (Vellfire) is going on sale exclusively in China.

Toyota VellFire's twin engine is unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show 2021 in Shanghai, China, April 19, 2021. A total of three models of the new car will be launched, with a price range of 83.90 million yuan to 920 million yuan. The new car is positioned as the flagship version of the VellFire, with the look of an overseas sports kit and the title "Crown" to highlight nobility. Crown is a high-end model of Toyota Motor, officially launched in 1955, now has developed into the 15th generation of the product, 65 years. In the impression of consumers, "Crown" is not only a Toyota, but also a synonym for high-end Japanese cars.

Crown Vellfire offers three models with a price range of 839,000 yuan to 920,000 yuan.

In terms of appearance, the new car will adopt a different design style from the current Vellfire, and the overall shape will be the same as the overseas sports version of the model. The front screen will adopt large chrome decorative strips, the two sides of the large light panels will adopt a split design, and the LOGO of the front will be changed to the "crown" LOGO, in order to highlight the special status of the model. The front of the new car surrounded by a more exaggerated modeling, cooling openings on both sides of the modeling area is very large, which five grille modeling is unusually fierce, for the new car has brought a very powerful visual impact.

Side of the body, the new car is not different from the current model, the overall side lines are very full of tension, the truncated design of the B-pillar also makes the new car show the effect of the suspension roof. At the same time, the new car used a new close spoke wheel, for the new car to further add a dynamic effect.

The rear part of the car is also almost consistent with the current model, the rear using large surface area of glass and the use of broad and thick through the chrome decorative strip decoration, taillight group also used a transparent lampshade design, plus hidden exhaust layout, so that the overall sense of the new car more prominent.

Interior, the new car still uses a mechanical pointer type dashboard, and with a four-spoke multifunctional steering wheel; The central control multimedia touch screen adopts the built-in design, and the functional control area of the central console retains some mechanical keys, but it does not lose the sense of luxury.

In terms of configuration, the new car is equipped with more safety driving assistance functions, including pre-collision safety system (PCS) with pedestrian detection function, road marker assistance (RSA), lane departure warning (LDA), automatic high beam (AHB), adaptive cruise system, lane center, curve deceleration and other safety configuration.

In terms of power, the new car is still equipped with a hybrid system composed of a 2.5L engine and two front and rear motors. The integrated power of the system is 163 horsepower, and the transmission system is matched with an E-CVT continuously variable gearbox.
