Ford has officially released the new generation of the F-150 Raptor (Raptor). The new car body upgraded to aluminum, and the exterior changes will continue the new standard version of the F-150 (anyway, it is more handsome!) In addition to the third-generation Ecoboost V6 3.5T twin-turbo engine, the power will also provide a V8 engine version in 2022.

However, in the details, the new F-150 Raptor can still see the continuation of many new standard versions of the F-150, which changed the latest Ford honeycomb mesh, including a circle of chrome trim, the grille area also further increased, and with the vertical style on both sides of the LED headlamp group into one; while the lower surround is made of steel, with a richer sense of hierarchy design, but also the LED fog lights and millimeter-wave radar are embedded in it. (Optional off-road searchlights are available on the front bar)

It is worth mentioning that for the first time, the new vehicle incorporates an active grille, which, together with the rest of the body design, makes the new F-150 Raptor the best aerodynamic performance version ever, while fuel consumption has also been further optimized.

In addition, the new F-150 Raptor also incorporates new active vents at the hood to further improve the airflow in the engine bay.

On the side, the new vehicle gets new style blackened double-layer forged multi-spoke wheels, a single rivet is enough to highlight its strong performance. Meanwhile, the matching wheels are 35 or 37 inches, so this makes the new F-150 Raptor the largest tire size of all Ford pickups.

The new F-150 Raptor with 37 inches is said to have a ground clearance of 33.274 cm, a maximum approach angle of 33.1°, a departure angle of 24.9° as well as a steering angle of 24.4°.

At the rear, the smoked taillights are more three-dimensional than the current model and echo the headlights; the rear bar is also made of steel, and the bilateral dual-exit exhaust layout shows that this is not an ordinary F-150.

The interior of the new car is consistent with the standard F-150, with the main changes focused on the adjustment of the configuration, equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, the center console is equipped with a standard 12-inch infotainment system, embedded system for Ford's latest development of SYNC 4, supporting Apple Car Play, Android Auto, SYNC AppLink, Waze and Ford + Alexa and other mainstream connectivity. In addition, the new vehicle also offers eight B&O audio systems and eighteen-speaker B&O audio systems for option.

Technology features, the new vehicle is equipped with Co-Pilot 360 2.0 driver assistance system, including automatic emergency braking, per-collision assistance with pedestrian detection, a rearview camera with dynamic hook assist, automatic high beams, and automatic on/off headlights, Autopilot (available in all 50 U.S. states and parts of Canada on highways, while the driver status Monitoring System, which tracks head position and driver vision for safe driving).

Powering the new F-150 Raptor is a third-generation twin-turbo 3.5T Ecoboost V6 engine with transmission mated to a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, although no specific parameters have been announced (the current model has a maximum power of 450 PS), while the new vehicle will also come standard with an electronic locking rear differential and available Torsen front limited-slip differential .

Ford says the third-generation 3.5T Eco boost V6 engine, with an advanced turbocharger and 10:5:1 compression ratio, a new high-power fan system for cooling, and a new equal-length active exhaust system with built-in X-pipe, gives the new V6 engine a more violent sound, especially in Sport mode. In addition, the new vehicle is equipped with a large 136 L fuel tank and is expected to have a driving range of over 800 km.

The new vehicle will also come standard with the Trail 1-Pedal Drive system, which is designed to help in extreme off-road situations by simplifying the driver's footwork by integrating acceleration and braking functions all on the gas pedal (press to move forward, then release to brake).

Suspension-wise, the new vehicle's rear suspension has been redesigned with a Raptor-specific five-link independent suspension with coil springs to provide more control and power and give the driver more confidence in driving on all types of terrain. In addition, the new five-link rear suspension is equipped with longer longitudinal arms to better maintain axle position.

Carl Widmann, Ford Performance's chief engineer, said, " The new five-link rear setup features greater wheel travel than the previous generation, while every aspect of it has been carefully engineered."

In addition to the new rear suspension, the new car is still equipped with Fox Live Valve shocks, which can adjust the vehicle's suspension performance by acquiring body data in real-time through multiple electronic sensors to provide a timely response.
