Driving Comfortably: Troubleshooting and Repairing Jaguar Car AC Problems
Jaguar Car AC Problems

During the summers, the exhaustion and the uncomfort what spoils the mood. It is the AC which gives relief from such heat. While driving, the heat during summer affects the peace of mind, so the AC at the car saves the passengers. but when the AC stops working, the driving or travelling becomes more irritating. It is highly required to get the AC repaired during the summers or before that. It is found that many Jaguar car owners face the problems in the AC problems and they don’t even get the AC serviced before the hot summers. Therefore, here you will know about the troubleshooting the AC.
Different AC problems in the jaguar
The air conditioner used in cars use the energy from engine to cool the cabin air. The cooling process occur similar to that of other air conditioners used in homes. The enabling and disabling the AC is done electrically. The AC cools the cabin by providing cool air to make the journey more comfortable for the passengers. The comfortable ride provided by a car makes it more impressive making it more popular. The Jaguar cars known for their special comfortable ride and unique styling is due its AC and other things that lead to comfortable ride.
The AC works by the flow of the refrigerant throughout the system. The flow of refrigerant is done for the transfer of heat from one place to another for cooling. The flow of the refrigerant requires the movement of the mechanical parts. Therefore, in the system the various parts get exposed to pressure stress and strain repeatedly and the friction acting on them gradually leads to wear. The lubrication gets reduced with time and corrosion occurs too. This leads to various AC problems. When the AC suffers from problems then doesn’t wear normally at all. Here are some of the common AC problems found in Jaguar.
A reduced or no air flow
If there is a reduced or no air flow from the AC vents, then the culprits for the problem is the clogged cabin air filter, clogged condenser, clogged evaporator, or faulty blower motor.
Normal or hot air from the AC vents
If you find the air flow from the vents of cabin, but the air is the cooled, then the reason must be due to the lack of refrigerant or refrigerant leak.
A moldy odor from the AC vents
If there is a bad odor from the AC vents, like of molds, then the evaporator might have got very dirty.
Air flow becomes inconsistent
When the air flow from the AC is not consistent at all, then the evaporator might be the reason. The fins of the evaporator of the car might have got clogged due to the dirt build up.
Cannot adjust the speed of the AC motor
The air conditioners do have regulators where you can regulate the amount of cold air into the cabin. If turning the regulator cannot change the air flow, then the culprit can be the AC blower motor resistor.
Different fixes for the AC problems
The fixes of the AC problems are done by finding the causes. Here are some fixes –
Replacing the blower motor
If you find any issues in the air flow, then know that there can be some issue in the blower motor. You have to check the motor, if it is not working, then replace it.
Fixing the compressor
If the compressor is not working properly, then only the replacement of the compressor can solve the problem.
Fixing the evaporator
If the evaporator has become too dirty, then you have to clean it which is a complex process and would require the removal of the dashboard.
Fixing the leaks
The leaks in the AC system can lead to loss of excess refrigerant. Therefore, if your car is not able to provide cool air, then check the whole system for leaks and use a leak detection spray. After getting the real location of the leak, you have to replace the faulty component which causes the leaks.
Fixing the condenser
The condenser of the AC can get faulty by getting a buildup of the dirt or having a damaged part. You have to clean the fins of the condenser by a power washer at low pressure setting. Any damaged part in the condenser has to be replaced.
Cabin filter fix
If the cabin filter is clogged, then you can clean it by the help of a vacuum cleaner. If it is damaged, then replace the filter. The recommended fixing of the cabin filter is once for 10000 - 20000 miles.
Conclusion
There are some fixes like the change of cabin filter which is an easy task. But for the other complex problems, you have to take the help of professional mechanic.
