Winter in Finland is ...
a long and dark night - a Drabble

At this point, I swear the rain’s developed a personality. It hits the window every morning as if it owns it, as if I asked for a six-month subscription to Rain Unlimited. The Sun shows up for five minutes to remind me it exists. Quickly it disappears like it has better places to go, which, frankly, it does.
I survive through the day like a depressed mushroom. I dream of Greek islands where winter means light, olives, colours. I imagine myself there, tea on a terrace, watching the sea. Meanwhile, the rain here just knocks and says, “see you tomorrow.”

Beautiful description of the rain, like you bring its personality to life. So, you live in Finland. I want to go there to witness the Aurora lights
This is wonderful!!! Hope the weather gets better for you :)
The depressed mushroom line made me laugh 😅 As soon as the weather warmed up here, my mood improved. I didn't realise how much winter was getting me down.
🩷 it! This piece made me want to go the Greek Islands too! I hope that the sun comes back 2 visit soon! Maybe it'll head here afterwards! Lol 😁
I know I would be bummed out living in that type of winter. Give me the Southern California winter any day. Great job with the Drabble.
Hahahahahahaha that part about the sun made me laugh so much! Loved your story!
