Denmark has plenty of museums, historic buildings, castles, gardens, festivals, and other events to keep you entertained during your stay. Denmark also offers an amazing food culture with pastries like Danish bacon buns (flødeboller), the world's most popular soft drink (Danish cherry cola) and so much more! Denmark is definitely worth visiting. Denmark is also known for its beautiful cities, great food, and amazing biking culture. Denmark's capital city Copenhagen offers so much to do it can be overwhelming. Denmark has a very good public transit system which makes getting around easy.

Visit a castle or palace - Denmark is home to many castles and palaces due to its royal heritage. Some examples include Kronborg Castle which is located in the town of Helsingør and is immortalised in Shakespeare Hamlet, probably my favourite of his plays. Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen is the winter home of the Danish royal family and is open to the public. It was an constructed in 1750 by King Frederick V.
Explore the city - Denmark's cities are filled with history and culture, making them perfect for exploration. Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark and is home to a large number of attractions such as Tivoli Gardens which is one of the oldest amusement parks in Europe. Aalborg is the fourth largest city in Denmark and has culture coming out in spades. Odense is the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen and is home to a number of museums dedicated to him. Denmark has an abundance of museums that are well worth visiting if you're interested in art or history. Denmark prides itself on the Statens Museum for Kunst which is just a stone throw away from Denmark's parliament, Christiansborg Slot.
Go on day trips - Denmark is surrounded by water, making it the perfect place for boat trips. Head to Falster for beaches and seaside towns or Samsø for stunning views of the countryside. If you're looking for something a bit more active then head to Djursland where you can go hiking, biking and even ziplining.
Visit the Christmas markets - Denmark is famous for its Christmas markets which take place in cities all over the country during December. Highlights include Aarhus' traditional market with a Nordic feel and Copenhagen's large market located in Tivoli Gardens. They really feel that you are stepping back in time to a much simpler time.
See the sights - Denmark is home to some of the most beautiful architecture in the world. From castles to windmills, there's plenty to see. The best way to see it all is by bike and luckily Denmark has great cycling infrastructure. However, there are a number of bus tours that take you around Copenhagen that of hop on and hop off options letting you see the city without having to walk too much.
Sample the food - Danish food is hearty and full of flavour. A must-try is the smørrebrød, a traditional Danish sandwich. It's made with rye bread and topped with meat, fish or cheese. Denmark is also known for its beer so make sure to sample some of that too!
Get out into nature - Denmark is home to some beautiful forests and coastline. If you're looking for something that reminds you of your childhood, there are plenty of places to see that inspired fairytales such as the elves that are said to inhabit Denmark's forests. everyone. If dancing is more your thing then make sure to go. Denmark also holds the record for most bicycles per capita so it will be hard not to spot them on your travels and there are a number of routes out there for you to take part in if you want something a little more active.
Sample the nightlife - Denmark is known for having a thriving party scene at all hours of the day! Whether you're looking to spend your evenings in one of Copenhagen's many cafes or bars, there will be something for everyone, but they're also plenty of places for a quiet night out for those who see themselves above the whole scene. Denmark has a thriving music scene and there are plenty of bars/concert halls in Denmark's capital that have live music on almost any night. Denmark is also known for its many Michelin star restaurants which offer some delicious cuisine options to try out when you're visiting Denmark. However sometimes you want a bit of home, The Southern Cross was one of my favourite places to go because it had Thatcher's and Sheppey cider on draft which is something I thought I would never see in Denmark, it is in Copenhagen for those who want to know.
Denmark has a booming beer scene, with plenty of local breweries where you can taste some delicious beers or take brewery tours. Denmark holds the world record for having the most bars per capita so there isn't really an excuse not to try something new!
Take a trip out of the city - Denmark is full of stunning countryside, and there's no better way to see it than by renting a car and taking a road trip. From the beaches in Southern Denmark to the rolling hills in North Jutland, you're sure to find something that takes your fancy.
Visit one of Denmark's more famous landmarks - Denmark is home to some of the most iconic landmarks in Europe. The Little Mermaid, Langelinie and Nyhavn are all worth a visit for any traveller!
A trip into Denmark's history - Denmark has been shaped by its complex history with Germany, but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of monuments dedicated to this complicated past that has made demands what it is today.
Denmark is known for its beautiful coastlines - Denmark has some of the most stunning coastlines in Europe. From the beaches of Southern Denmark to the fjords up North, there's so much beauty waiting for you to take it all in!
Denmark isn’t the place you go to get a tan but it is a place that is still worth a visit. Denmark is home to Denmark’s many castles and palaces, as well as Denmark’s old towns. Denmark has a rich history from its Viking past which you can explore in Denmark's many museums. The best way to see Denmark is by renting a car and taking a road trip, you could follow a Viking route or choose something a little more contemporary - Denmark is a great country to explore by car, with a wealth of Viking routes and other scenic drives to choose from.
Lastly, Denmark also has a great zoo called Dyrehavsbakken which is the world's oldest amusement park. If you're looking for some natural beauty, Denmark definitely won't disappoint you. Just outside of Copenhagen in the suburb of Klampenborg is Bellevue Beach which is considered one of the most popular beaches in the country.
