What are Vietnam’s eco-tourism destinations perfect for adventure seekers?
It's not just about exploring the National Parks

Vietnam is beautiful, with the nicest natural surroundings and the gentlest people. The whole world loves Vietnam, and there's no doubt about it. Tourism is one of the main industries in Vietnam, and it's rapidly embracing the concept of ecotourism. It has several ecotourism destinations that sustainable tourists would love to explore, and this article is entirely about them.
-Vietnam and Ecotourism
Sustainable travel is a concept that you often hear about. Isn't it? Eco-tourism is a concept that goes in line with this concept where travellers get to explore the beauty of destinations without harming the beauty of mother nature.
Vietnam is a country blessed with forests, wetlands, mountains, beaches and river deltas. Through ecotourism initiatives, it's attempted to preserve these amazing natural resources for the next generations.
-Tam Dao National Park, Vietnam
When you travel about 80km away from Hanoi, you come across the ever-beautiful Tam Dao National Park which is located in Vinh Phuc. It's a natural attraction that you can explore throughout the year, but the best time to visit it would be during the summer.
Tam Dao National Park is blessed with over 2000 species of plants and eight sorts of different forests. Added to that is the beautiful and amazing flora system.
-Cat Ba Island
Located on Cat Ba Island, Cat Ba National Park is one of the key ecotourism hubs that's blessed with a mangrove ecosystem, marine biosphere and terrestrial forest. When you are here, you get the rare chance to spot the white-faced monkey (they call it 'Vooc'). It's considered one of the most endangered primate species in the world.
Trekking and rock climbing are possible here, and water sports such as kayaking and scuba diving opportunities are also available.
-Cuc Phuong National Park
Old is gold and we all know that. Don't we? So, as an eco-traveller, why would you miss out on exploring the oldest nature reserve in Vietnam? Cuc Phuong National Park covers a huge area of 22,000 hectares, and this area includes the archaeologically significant spot- Nguoi Xua Cave (Pre-historic man cave).
Other special things about this National Park? It's a paradise for those who love butterflies as the area is all about diverse types of butterflies from April to May. Guess what? You can explore more than 250 species of butterflies when you are here during the butterfly season.
-Cat Tien National Park
With an area of 72,000 hectares, Cat Tien National Park is the best thing about the Southern part of Vietnam. It's considered a lowland tropical rainforest that's blessed with over 350 species of birds, 100 species of mammals and 100 species of reptiles.
Visit Cat Tien National Park from October to May. You will be amazed to see a world of butterflies here. (this National Park has almost 50% of the butterflies in Vietnam).
-Tram Chim National Park
Previously, the same natural wonder was known as the Tam Nong Bird Sanctuary. Today, it's called Tram Chim National Park and is considered a wetland ecosystem blessed with a wide range of flora and fauna. You will be surprised to know that there are over 230 species of water birds in this area of 7500 acres, and that's why it's been considered a paradise for bird watchers.
-Eco travelling in Vietnam
Exploring all the national parks and sanctuaries in Vietnam can, of course, help you become an eco traveller. While exploring the beauty of nature, you can also awaken the adventurer within you through diverse activities such as trekking and kayaking.
