Unveiling the Mystical Beauty of Tinipak River and Rock Formations: A Creative Exploration of it's Hidden Gem
The river and the rock formations were awe-inspiring. We seized the opportunity to ascend the tallest rock formation, where we were rewarded with a magnificent view of the river and the mountains.

I was picked up by a service car at approximately 6:30 am in Pasig City. We were on our way to Eastwood to pick up another colleague at the agreed time of 7:30 am. Arriving in Eastwood well ahead of schedule, my driver and I decided to indulge in a delicious breakfast at the Restaurant near THAMES International School at Quezon City. After our satisfying meal, we made our way to Eastwood Le Grand Tower 2 to rendezvous with our colleague. Our journey from Eastwood to Barangay Daraitan, Tanay Rizal began at 7:30 am using the Waze app. We embarked on a scenic 2-hour drive via the Marcos Highway and "Makaira-Daraitan" Road to the parking area, where we paid a nominal fee of 100 pesos for parking.
Upon arrival at the parking area, we utilized a boat service to traverse to the opposite side of the barangay. A fare of 10 pesos per individual was paid for the boat journey.
Subsequently, we engaged a tricycle service for the conveyance of three individuals to the Daraitan Tourism Information within the barangay, remunerating 100 pesos for the service.

Once we had taken care of the environmental, cultural, and tourism fees, a knowledgeable local tour guide led us to the briefing area where the location map was. Following that, we paid the tour guide fee and received an informative briefing about the trail we were about to embark on. Although we were unable to reach the edge of the Tinipak River and Rock Formations due to the challenging path, we still found the experience to be incredibly captivating and awe-inspiring.
We had the option to hike or rent a tricycle to reach our destination, but we decided to walk to fully appreciate the beauty of the barangay.
Walking around the barangay was truly delightful, offering a serene atmosphere and a rich abundance of fruits, trees, and vegetables. We also savored the sounds of nature, including the tricycles, footsteps, and the presence of animals such as horses, native pigs, and chickens. Along the way, we passed by the public cemetery and observed several calamari farms. Upon reaching the dropping point, we were treated to a breathtaking view of the river and impressive rock formations. Our visit coincided with many hikers enjoying a refreshing swim, adding to the lively atmosphere of the area.
We persevered in our hiking adventure, reveling in the breathtaking scenery of the pristine river and the magnificent rock formations. As we trekked along, we came across a splendid view deck, offering a serene vantage point to admire the stunning surroundings from above. Continuing our journey, we seized the opportunity to capture the picturesque landscape through photographs and videos until we stumbled upon a perfect resting spot. Here, we took a break to replenish our energy, savor some refreshments, and take a refreshing swim. It's important to note that swimming is only permitted under the careful supervision of a tour guide due to the strong currents.
Delving into some geological information, we learned that the rocks in the Tinipak River are predominantly composed of limestone, characterized by its high calcium carbonate content in the form of the mineral calcite. Pressing on with our exploration, we eventually arrived at the tallest rock near the Kaliwa Watershed area. From this vantage point, we were treated to a breathtaking view of the river, the enchanting rock formations, the lush foliage, the majestic mountains, and much more.
I am excited to share with you a collection of captivating images showcasing the breathtaking Tinipak River and its stunning rock formations in Barangay Daraitan, Tanay, Rizal. Prepare to be amazed by the natural beauty and awe-inspiring landscapes captured in these photos.

Suggestions and Recommendations:
Here are some detailed instructions and recommendations for your visit:
1. To fully appreciate the beautiful views along the Makaira-Daraitan Road, it's best to start your journey early in the day.
2. It's advisable to reconsider your visit if it's raining, as the roads to the barangay may become impassable. Safety should be a priority.
3. For a more immersive experience, I recommend starting your hike from the barangay and walking to the destination. This will allow you to soak in the local atmosphere and enjoy the village vibes.
4. Please be aware that the restroom facilities may not be luxurious, so it's best to be mentally prepared for basic amenities.
5. It's essential to carry an ample supply of water with you. However, if you run out, you can purchase water from the mini store located beside the river.
6. When negotiating the tricycle fee, it's important to haggle with the driver to ensure a fair price. A fee of 100 pesos for a trip with 3 passengers is considered expensive. The standard rate should be around 20 pesos per person.
