How Traveling Promotes Creativity
Travel is great for many things, but perhaps an overlooked benefit is its effect on creativity. Immersing yourself in an unfamiliar environment, you are helping your brain make new connections, solve problems, and embrace new ideas. This will feed into your work, with your unique surroundings offering inspiration. Traveling helps to boost creativity and well-being more than any other activity. Do you want to know why? Here are a few benefits of traveling you may not have thought about.

A Plant-Based Road Trip through England and Scotland
“Veganism is not a sacrifice, it’s a joy.” Gary L. Francione The United Kingdom is a perfect travel destination for a vegan. Never on the two-week road trip from London to Edinburgh was there a shortage of plant-based food. I quite literally ate my way through London, Bath, the Cotswolds, Stratford-Upon-Avon, the Lake District, Loch Lomond, Inverness, and Edinburgh.

Moving from the East Coast to the Midwest: Lessons Learned
It will almost be a year in August of 2022 that I moved from my hometown in the East Coast to a small town in the Midwest specifically located in Minnesota. My journey may be different than some because I was 24 years old when I officially moved out of my "mamas house" and took the leap to real independent life. There are so many things that I have learned in general about family, support, love, standing up for myself, and faith. When I left home I felt some fear but mostly I was cushioned by stable resources, the frustration of not living under my own rules, and the belief that I was finally headed towards my purpose and financial and personal freedoms I had never had before.

Travel Writing
I remember finishing my Bachelor's Degree and aiming to become a hot shot writer in New York, and when I got my first job on Upwork (making $25 and hour), I was super stoked! I began reading about every career in editing or writing you could think of and built my Upwork portfolio of of research projects for businesses, and in the name of writing articles. I looked into travel writing, but at the time, I had only been so far (Europe, but as a teenager), and also Hawaii (but as a 7 year old), Mississippi (at age 6), and New York (at 15).

When is it Time for you to Travel Solo?
I just booked my solo trip to Ireland and felt a moment of guilt when I submitted my payment. My inner voice tapped me on the shoulder. Shouldn't you take someone with you? In a moment of self-reflection, it hit me. Wait a second. I bust my ass, save where I can, always taking care of others, yet don't pay myself back. So, f*ck no! I'm going solo, baby! 🤘

Fourth of July Packing List
Sunglasses: don’t want to let the glare off the ocean or the bright noon sun ruin your day! Sunscreen: even if you think you’ll be in the shade, always make sure you’ve got SPF 30—a sunburn on such a fun day would be a real tragedy :( Water bottles: you’ll want to stay hydrated, especially if you end up doing a bit more exercise than you had originally planned… Drawstring backpack: stores a lot, is super cute, and is easy to pick up and close in order to make a speedy exit. Map of the area or Google Maps: it’s always good to know all the cute little coffee shops in the area and all the possible escape routes for leaving the fireworks display. Wouldn’t want to be stuck in a corner when you need to move fast… Charged phone: for snapping great instagram photos, taking videos of the fireworks, recording people sprinting for cover, checking Twitter for info about what’s going on, finding friends after losing each other in the chaos, and navigating routes home after cops close off streets for manhunts. Running shoes: the last thing you’d want is to be caught in sandals when sprinting away from an active shooter. Total fashion faux pas.
