My last days in London
211 Days to go It’s my first night out since Lockdown started in March last year and probably the last time I step through the doors of The Paradise Bar. Admittedly the last time I was here was two years ago at Halloween and before that someone’s birthday. Maybe Sarah’s? Another drunken night dancing body to body thrumming to music with the scent of sweat and tequila. The tequila was me. I hope the body odour wasn’t!

Miscalculating the difficulty of trail running
Okay, so a tiny bit of personal history. I’d consider myself a fairly active person. I'm a single mother of two rambunctious kiddos, one with autism. I’ve completed two 5k foam fest obstacle courses. I’m the ambassador for a local all girls hiking group called “hiker babes”. I enjoy pretty much all things outdoors; hiking, swimming, running, kayaking, fishing, you name it.

CANOEING FOREVER
Despite the recent mass appeal of stand-up paddleboarding, the overtaking of the ocean kayak, and the temptation of luxury yacht sailing, nothing can or will replace our love affair with the canoe. A symbol of our heritage, most born-and bred Canadians hold at least one fond memory of canoeing in their brain bank.

Freckles Abroad
The past few weeks have been incredibly active. I've finally gotten to do some real traveling, spending a whole night out of London for the first time since I arrived here! Not to mention setting eyes on the English countryside for the first time.

Careless Precision
It’s been a long day; I massage my temples as I slowly get up and head outside. Life and work are draining, and I’m eager to let my creative side take control so that my mind can wander. As I head into the shed, I grab my tools off of the wood countertops and lay them on the stool next to me. I immediately feel bliss rush over me. I plug in the cord and slowly release my foot down onto the pedal that powers the wheel which spins my pound of clay with speed. My first tool is a sponge, drenched in water my sponge allows me to work with the clay instead of against it. I have no plan for this clay, only to see where my tools take me.

How to Plan a Visit to National Parks in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka has a diverse range of landscapes, and its national parks are among them. Most of these national parks claim the UNESCO World Heritage title. Providing a home to a number of endangered species, Sri Lanka's national parks are rich in biodiversity. No Sri Lankan tour is complete until the country's national parks are visited.

The Magic of Sailing. Top Story - June 2021.
Sailboaters are atunned with nature. Power boaters are anathema to nature. I began sailing when I was a child. My family had a friend, an older gentleman with a sailboat who had an enormous amount of patience with an 8-year-old rambunctious boy. He taught me boat and water safety, how to handle a small boat in rough waters and most of all taught me respect for the sea.

Free as a Bird
It was the middle of the European leg of our backpacking journey when my best friend (and greatest person I know), Nevena, and I visited Switzerland. This particular adventure was a six-month backpacking trip consisting of 16 countries in Europe, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji.
