Tadiandamol Trek: A Day Among the Clouds in Coorg

The traffic, noise, and endless schedules make it hard to breathe and just be. For me, nature has always been a sanctuary.

Sometimes, city life can feel overwhelming. The traffic, noise, and endless schedules make it hard to breathe and just be. For me, nature has always been a sanctuary. The forests, hills, and streams help me slow down and reconnect with myself. That’s why I decided to do a single-day trek to Tadiandamol in Coorg with my friend Meera — a quick adventure that promised both challenge and serenity.

Early Morning – Journey to the Base Village

We left Bangalore around 5 AM and drove toward Siddapura, the base village for Tadiandamol. The drive itself was scenic, passing through misty hills, coffee plantations, and small streams. By 9 AM, we reached the village, parked our car, and met our local guide. The fresh mountain air and green surroundings instantly made me feel refreshed and ready for the trek.

Morning – Trekking Begins

After a quick breakfast, we started the trek. The trail began through coffee plantations and gradually led into dense forests. The scent of wet soil and leaves, the sound of birds, and the occasional babbling stream made the journey magical. As the trail grew steeper, we paused often to rest and admire the endless hills and misty valleys around us.

Midday – Reaching the Peak

By late morning, we reached Tadiandamol Peak, the highest point in Coorg. Clouds floated around us, and the panoramic view of the Western Ghats was breathtaking. We rested, clicked photos, and had a light snack while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Standing on the summit, feeling the wind and clouds brush past, made every step of the climb worth it.

Afternoon – Descent and Reflection

After some time at the peak, we began our descent. Walking down was easier on the legs but required attention on slippery patches. By 3 PM, we returned to the base village and had lunch at a small local eatery. Even in just a single day, the trek left me feeling refreshed, energized, and peaceful.

Final Thoughts

The Tadiandamol trek reminded me that even a short escape into nature can rejuvenate the mind and spirit. The forests, hills, and clouds offered peace, adventure, and a sense of freedom. If city life ever feels heavy, I would say — spend a day trekking Tadiandamol and let the hills show you the beauty of simplicity and serenity.
