From New Jersey to North Carolina, South Carolina to Georgia, Maryland to Florida. I strive in different areas and embrace different settings of time. From the different lingos to the rise of the sun in different areas of the city, it just seems like an addiction to me. To roam freely across every area within the world. Sort of like a Dr Suess story come to life, but my color is not green nor do I have a furry frame. I used to scoff at the thoughts of running to a train just to make it to my next destination, or getting jet lag during a two hour flight (such an amateur). But, the thrill of hearing transportation information, train engine exhaust, and a groggy self going to a gas station to get a gatorade and relieving myself after a few hours on the road seems like a habit in a blessing.

I remember sitting on the bench off of Penns Landing in Philadelphia, looking at the waterfront wondering what my next destination will be. No longer I strive to stay in a house like normal people, I desire the open road with my wife’s twists blowing through the air like I managed to ride a Harley on Route 66. Why settle for a small time setting, when I can grasp the world in the tip of my fingers. People call me crazy for even considering a trip or even two across the world away from the United States. My former coworkers would treat me like a punchline and an episodic sitcom because of my ambitions of going to South Korea.

As a youngin, I wanted to embrace Australian culture and embrace the sea around thee. Teenage dreams of going to Canada just to enjoy the social aspects of a different way of living. European music echoes through my earbuds as a young adult witnessing the country life severely sucking, but hey it was good eating. Now, I’m a retail worker looking at 4K traveling videos on a demo of a 8K television wishing I could taste the crisp air from afar.

The good thing about this addiction is that I am not alone on this potential journey to the unknown. There are countless folks that desire the opportunity to embrace a different lifestyle and a renewal of a passport. People that see different hotel rooms, than a permanent household. Fathers who get embraced by a child trying to figure out how come I see my daddy on a Facetime session than in reality. Housebroken family members wondered how to close the door and left the issues behind. My words to them and many others in the struggle, pack your bags and go. Don’t go back, but go forward. Stop thinking of settling down, when your body wants to spread its wings to fly. The ticket to success is on an airline from Booking.com.

Break out of the cage and embrace the Samsonite Road….
