I've lived in Midland since a child of eight years old and now I am 50 years older. How in the hell did I stay out here in the desert and live is a bit confusing to a reader that has never been here. Midland produces 1/3 of the world's oil supply and Americans should be proud of that fact. This is American soil and American companies doing hard work. The work is dangerous out in the oilfield even with specialized equipment for safety in place the oil business is rough on a soul.

Midland is a city located in Midland County Texas. It is also the county seat of Midland County. With a 2020 population of 153,768, it is the 20th largest city in Texas and the 168th largest city in the United States . Midland is currently growing at a rate of 2.58% annually and its population has increased by 38.35% since the most recent census, which recorded a population of 111,147 in 2010. This information is from the charts of the city of Midland for 2021.

SO it's growing and the houses are filling back up as the oil prices are above $55.00 per barrel of oil, there will be drilling in Western Texas for many years to come and at a significant profit from 30 years ago. Anyone involved in the revenue of oil has to make payments for that revenue. It’s a gambling game with money and time. There is not enough time in the day for these rigs to shut down and they back up crews and equipment usually ready to service a well that may be prone to problems.

The city itself is a clean place of about 200,000 and there is plenty of places to rent. When the Pandemic hit, the oil prices dropped low. There was Midland with people moving out as Apartments for one-bedroom, the rate could be 1300.00 a month. This is not for a new apartment either. The task of coming back to Midland has brought some people back and there is a new crowd of people from California. The advent of the jobs we have available. I get called for IT jobs on a daily if not twice-daily basis for work to be done. At times, if I am not busy I will take the jobs and make extra cash. I have been a computer nut for 40 years. The jobs pay very well in the industry, and out of the oil and gas sector. You have people that stay at one of many hotels we have that are fairly brand new for a medium rate of 80.00 min to stay at a nice clean place like the Hilton Garden Inn on a weekend.

Come and visit see, if this lifestyle suits yours. The nightlife is not my forte here but I'm an old fart so I don’t party anymore. So I do not know much about what goes on after 6 PM.lol, Chris stays home and out of trouble, as we have the bars, and the cowboy fights in the parking lots. It gets wild on the weekends, so stay somewhere they don’t put up with parties. Just a hint to let you know. Enjoy your stay, all I can say is there is a couple of museums you might want to see. Bush was from here and the childhood home is very interesting as he lived very low income. The Petroleum Museum and the Horseshoe Ranch are placed you must see if you’re here wandering around. It might be best to get an Uber and go to the many places and have drinks. That would make for a perfect weekend. There is a National Spaceport in Midland, Texas. So fly your rocket in and land it I guess..lol Take care and enjoy the articles.
