New York: Day 3
A Wander Around Central Park and Madame Tussauds

This morning I had a scrambled eggs breakfast in the hotel restaurant. It was nice, but the chefs put an awful lot on my plate. I couldn’t even eat half of it and I usually eat loads. I’ve noticed that eggs seem to be the main things on breakfast menus over here. My friend had the pancakes. She had a cup of tea and the waitress assured us it was English tea. It most definitely wasn’t. I just had a soda instead. After breakfast we went to a few convenience shops. I needed to pick up some toiletries for the hotel. We were determined to find some proper tea bags. We ultimately failed. So, I must pack proper tea bags on my next holiday abroad—roll on Las Vegas!
We went into M&M World and Hershey’s World. I may have nearly bought the whole shops. They had so much other merchandise other than the chocolate. They had hoodies, water bottles, cuddly toys, and much more. Americans sure love their chocolate. As do I, I bought two full bags worth.
We decided to have another look around Central Park and go to the zoo today. We took quite a few pictures around the park, taking advantage of the clear skies. The park is like a work of art. There are so many sculptures and picture spots. I could honestly spend hours there. It looks like a lovely place to go jogging as well. I did like the horse drawn carriages and bikes around the park. I think when we come back, I will try and bribe my friend into going in one with me. But it was such a lovely day we had a walk around instead. We decided we would have a walking tour later in the week.
We found the zoo and had a look around. We took quite a lot of pictures there as well. Particularly the lemurs. They are my friend's favourites. I was more interested in the bat cave and seals. But it was a really fun day. I loved the birds they had in there. However, it has only increased my desire to have an African Grey Parrot one day! They had an amazing rotating clock that several of the tourists stopped in our path to record, myself included. I did like the bear as well, even if it did sleep a lot when we were there. We also saw red pandas. Then we had some food and headed back to the hotel.
We had to look on Google Maps at the hotel to find how far away Madame Tussauds was. Luckily, it wasn’t that far away, but we did get a little lost. Thank god for the New Yorkers who gave us directions. I’ve been to Madame Tussauds in London, but New York was much better! I found it unusual that there were less people inside. The directions inside wasn’t great. We got a bit lost in the entrance. We felt a little better that others were the same. I managed to get a few pictures with the Royal Family, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Robin Williams, amongst others. My favourite part of course was the Marvel part! I got a picture with Nick Fury and Spider-Man!
We went to Planet Hollywood for tea. It was cool in there. Again, I love how much they celebrate Halloween. The whole place was kitted out with decorations and the TV screens had trailers of old and new horror films, as well as music videos. We both had a pizza. I am slowly starting to get the hang of the New York accent, but they are still struggling with mine.
